SOOOOOOO EXCITED! Radiohead is supposed to play a secret show on Wall Street at 4:00 as a tribute to the protesters or something like that. I am double excited, because I wanted to go down to the protest sometime soon, AND Radiohead might play. Two birds with one stone and what a freaking monumental show to see if it actually happens! If anyone wants to meet up (I am going alone), respond and maybe a bunch of us can meet somewhere down on Wall Street!

What was up with the talkers?

After a great show at Roseland last night I sit in my office back in Washington, D.C. trying to function (thank you, coffee and candy!) while listening to TKOL nonstop, which unsurprisingly only distracts me further and keeps my thoughts focused on last night's show.

Even though there were so many highlights (Subterranean Homesick Alien!) I have to admit the biggest downer of the night...the crowd that showed such little respect for the band and the rest of us in attendance and TALKED during the show.  I am sorry, Radiohead, for the crowd and for those around them who didn't ask them to STOP TALKING.  You deserve more respect.

portishead extras?

Well, the Radiohead invasion gives way to Portishead, with a brief cross-over on Jimmy Fallon Monday night (unless of course they have one final trick up their sleeve and show up at ATP this weekend)

Assuming that's unlikely, does anyone know of an extra ticket for Portishead on Wednesday night (10/5)? Passed on them when they went onsale because I was trying to cut back on concerts, but obviously I'm questioning the logic of that now...

last-minute box office release

The box office released last-minute tickets for face just before 10pm last night - it was a rush, naturally, but since the band didn't come on until 10:15 or so, it's worth a shot tonight if you don't have a ticket. Plus, I know of two people (myself included) who landed reasonably-priced "plus ones" outside the venue from people on line, so it is not impossible. No professional scalpers in sight, either. Head on down!

At Least Radiohead is Aware of What's Going On....

Not sure if anyone else has seen this, but I guess last night they posted the following on Dead Air Space....

New York Update

Some ticket holders for this week's New York shows have chosen to re-sell one or both of their allocation on auction sites. Using a 2 ticket limit and will-call only access with ID, we have tried to ensure that more tickets go to the people who prefer to see the show than to cheat fellow fans with re-selling tickets at exorbitant prices.

For those of you who have to pay over the face value of the ticket, PLEASE make sure that you are certain you can get into the show before parting with your money. A ticket is only valid with its matching credit card details and the ID of the purchaser, after which the ticket holder will be escorted straight through.

On a lighter note, we played on The Colbert Report last night. It was funny.
Hope this link works where you are: http://www.colbertnation.com/
So at least they realize that a lot of BS has taken part and they don't seem too happy about it. However I guess it's hard for them to do anything about it, especially last minute... The one redeeming fact is that they are paying attention and seem bothered by the events taking place. It made me feel a little more at peace with everything going on. So if they are paying attention to these boards or other boards... Thank you!

Tickets, O, tickets, when you finally went on sale,

My heart was beating rapidly, as it fluttered.

The anticipation became gigantic, the size of whale.

I was impatiently waiting to succeed and not fail.

Ticketmaster, you deceived me, my mind in a clutter.

Tears filled up, which dropped like hail.

Grasping the fact that my transaction went stale.

So disappointed, so filled with defeat, it’s all I muttered.

Surrender to the thief, disheartened I hail.

Devastated with lost emotion, my flesh turns pale.

My hopes and dreams felt dissonance, wanting to never discover.

The big let down has finally set sail.

Radiohead, my heart, my soul, for you still uncontrollably flails.

Next time, sell only single tickets

This is NYC and everyone will know someone at the show; next time, don't sell pairs, sell single tickets ONLY, so that truly, only the person who buys the ticket gets to go, and this Craigslist "be my +1 for $800" ends.  And if you're the only one of your friends who gets to go, then lucky you.  It's not like you should be talking during the set anyway and most people won't be driving so it works on many levels.

the obvious question?

so now that all of those who didn't get tickets have vented about ticketmaster and/or the pre-sale, it's time to move on to the next stage of grieving (denial?), and see if there's anyway we can get tickets without supporting scalpers or creepy people on craigslist (wolves at the door).

last night's appearance on colbert made it seem even more critical to make it to one of the shows, so if anyone has any ideas, or better yet any extras, please feel free to talk about it here...!

Roseland Debacle

So the six of us, all seasoned ticketmaster fools, login at exactly 10am from six different ip's and all come up short... same thing happened for presale and now I look with utter disgust at $500 tickets on craigslist. I hate to blame the band other than the reality that their sparse tour activity in the past two years has created incredible demand, but if they charged $250 for the tix and donated a GOOD SHARE  to charity, I would have no problem paying up..Such a shame the band and the fans are getting cheated on this deal.

Radiohead on SNL right now!

Who's watching?! I am!

Update:

In case you missed it...

"Lotus Flower"

"Staircase"

Great performance overall. Especially on "Staircase", which I'm surprised they played. I thought they would have played "The Daily Mail" or "Bloom". Their decision to played "Staircase", a track outside the album,  really surprised me. Nonetheless, great show. Just wished they would have played more than TWO songs.
