Earthsick

The dark night of the soul, the bends. The ultimate groundswell that drags you down to the bottom of the bitter sea. Carried away, my heart sank in this ebb and flow of tears. Overwhelmed by the Big Blue. Am really sinking this low? And those weird fishes — their slashed souls and lifeless eyes staring at me, blankly. Their greedy sunken — bleak, dead, stillborn eyes. Yes, I want to live, breathe, but as for being part of the human race, well I'm not so sure anymore. I can't take this right now. Got some sort of mega faith crisis. And it won't just go away when I wake up sucking a lemon. No, no, no... I'm afraid it will take much more than this.

Stop! I wanna go home,
Take off this uniform
And leave the show.
And I'm waiting in this cell
Because I have to know
Have I been guilty all this time?

"Stop", Pink Floyd (1979)

I'm an alien soul longing for somewhere else. Somewhere far away from this creeping madness, from this unreasonable perversion, this growing ingratitude, ignorant arrogance, loud egos, baffling denial, uncontrollable fear and excruciating alienation. Going round and round little patapons, over and over in circles. Could you please stop drawing me sheep? Forget it. It was a mistake — an awful mistake.

Come let the truth be shared
No-one ever dared
To break these endless lies
Secretly she cries.

"Sunburn", Muse (1999)

Can't. The veil of oblivion is flawed. False memories are fading away as real ones are emerging. If they float, they burn. If you talk, you die. If you keep quiet, you give up the ghost. Shoot the messenger! Burn the witch! Their game, their rules. Move or get removed, let's play leapfrog instead. One, two, three, Alice fell into a black hole. Black is black, you can't go back.

A lull. A dying angel. A shooting star. Make a wish. I believe, yes I do. I want to. Yes I can. You, me, them. Change our reality.

Dedicated to Johnny Greenwood

Hi everyone,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gXjM7ABslU&t=3s

This one is for the classcial guys and girls here. I made a complete score of the amazing song No Surprises.

Currently it's without the music due to copyright issues, but soon I will update it with MIDI sounds.

Till then, you can enjoy this song while looking at the score, and explore new depths of it.

Enjoy!

Amnesiac album review

Radiohead - Amnesiac - 2001, A+    Speechless, this album takes experimentation to a whole new level. The sounds themselves are graphic and each song takes the cake in it’s own way. It’s a psychotic rollercoaster that will de-rail throughout it’s trek. Pakt Like Sardines In A Crushed Tin Box, one of the more up beat cuts opens the record with robotic and otherworldly sounds. Pyramid Song, written at the same time as Everything In It’s Right Place, is a piano ballad that starts soft but then meshes so smoothly with the Phil Selway’s cloudy drums. Dark yet soothing at the same time. Pulk/Pulling Revolving Doors, easily the weirdest track on the record, maybe the most startling and weird track they have written. Incorporating heavily synthetic Thom Yorke vocals, and the sound of abrupt reverbs and sudden sparks of light that quickly disappear. You And Who’s Army? Art Jazz, I think that’s a thing? I Might Be Wrong, Who let Radiohead get there grabby paws on a country melody, And nail it perfectly, with a techy synthetic interlude? Knifes Out, A song about social cannabalism, and revealing the underlying truth behind big brand corporations. Morning Bell/Amnesiac, Again a more positive slower upbeat version of the original Kid A song. Dollars & Cents, Jazzy and suave, with a beat that will easily hook you and reel you into the rest. Hunting Bears, The shortest cut,  played in a traditional Japanese and Chinese sitar technique. Like Spinning Plates, close to abnormality of Pulk/Pulling Revolving Doors, The beat is kept with reversed drum loops. Impossible to dance to, But possibly a sane listen. Finally Life In A Glasshouse, the unique Miles Davis inspired number. Though it is a strange way to end the record, but in the way that the lyrics and melody come to a part, it sums up the theme magnificently! The album is an amazing sequel to their 2000 effort. Like being on the dark side of the moon, this is the dark side of Kid A.

Dear Radiohead band,

I live in Mexico, in a small town called La Paz, very near from Los Cabos, but very different of it. Well, last Saturday on April 22th, five good local musicians presented a tribute to Radiohead. 20 months ago, this project united them just because they wanted to study and play your music, the favorite music for this five. Well, it was a great night, was the first time in the city that we watched a show like this.

I’ve been in your concerts in Mexico City, on 2009 and last year. I can tell you that I felt the same vibe, feeling and emotions in the tribute last saturday. Radiohead’s heart was here that night and it felt so great, even some people who didn’t know about your music, they enjoyed that moment a lot. (You know, like moms, dads and grandparents).

I learned something about that night: your music is beyond yourselfs, is not Thom, Colin, Jonnhy, Ed Phil… it’s Radiohead, and Radiohead can be anywhere, no matter what. So, thank you so much for inspire people, for inspire us. In addition to the concert, this tribute event inspired different local artists to create graphics, videos, take pictures, write about it, etcetera… all around your music, celebrate it, honor it.

We love your music, so much.

I Hope you can watch and listen what we lived that night, in a small theater, of a small town in Mexico… very far far away from the big city, but close to the sea.

You are here, forever.

Greetings from La Paz, Baja California Sur, México.
