If you have ever heard Tori Amos cover Nirvana's 'Smell Like Teen Spirit', or Fiona Apple swoon us with her rendition of 'Across The Uninverse' then you know just how gorgeous and painfully beautiful musical homages can be..
Adding to this list of unforseen appreciation for fellow musicians is newcomer, Birdy. At 0nly 15, her haunting yet soothing take on Phoenix's hit song '1901' is so damn good I almost cant listen to the original anymore. Its simply fascinating that the same lyrics of a dancey-pop-laden track can take on a whole new life when done up with a piano and female vocals.
Have a listen her stylings below, which includes a take on Bon Iver's 'Skinny Love.' And be sure to check out her debut self-titled folk album out now on Atlantic Records.
