We defeat it; then we make peace with it, so that we can all move on

For being who we are.. and who we're not, but you all made us that
Steve is a lawyer, with a family that depends on him to survive
So every day I come home to no one but set the place for five
I'm in love with Eve and she loves me too... our love is so raw
I take her shopping, and we talk for hours, so it almost feels like she's not a doll
When I'm Adam I party and live without a care in the universe
So when I'm alone on Saturday night, it barely hurts
Last but not least there's John, the enemy of every wrong
A super hero by night, so I pretend my fright, is all gone
"I may be slowly losing my mind" - But who are you to tell me why..
I have to live or die, Tell me why I should give up this lie..
These may be variations of my mind but they are real to me
These are the things that made me who I am, who I want to be
It's illusion.. The dream is what keeps me going...
I take my reality and distort it, in my dreams.. It becomes my own
And I'm in full control of who I am, and who I want to be
Even my nightmares, become my own, because at least I can see
Someday, I wish, some of this were true... I dream
That I'm not just asleep when I become a king..
Life... To be experienced, to go against the grain
I made up a name, for a change, but everything stayed the same.
You can't change what's inside, or hide behind fiction
A dream is good, but life is worth living...
