Ticketmaster Response
Hi William,
Thanks for reaching out, I'd be more than happy to see what we can do to help.
I am deeply sorry you were unable to get tickets to Radiohead. But you have to understand that there are thousands of people on our website at the same time as you trying to buy tickets for the same event. Not everyone is able to get a ticket due to limited seating in the venue.
We take countless measures to prevent scalpers from purchasing tickets. We set ticket limits on every event and in this case the ticket limit is 4 tickets per household. Even scalpers have the right to 4 tickets, who are we to stop them form purchasing the limit. Now is someone goes over that limit then our over the ticket limit department cancels tickets down to the ticket limit, which is good news for you because those tickets go back into inventory and back up for sale. So you will still have an opportunity to get great Pearl Jam tickets. Another way to minimize ticket scalping is by setting a delivery delay on the event. If fans are not able to get there tickets until closer to the event then there is less scalping going on. We have also banned some users from the sight because we know they are ticket scalpers but people will still find ways around that.
Not everyone who resells their tickets are professional fans, that is want we label ticket scalpers. Some of these fans are just people who see an opportunity to make a little money. When you see tickets on resale sites that go on sale at the same time we go on sale, that is because we do have presales. Some of the presale fans may decicide that they want to sell there tickets, so they post them for sale on another sight. But the good thing about presale tickets is that we only sell a limited number of them and once they are gone the presale is over. Tickets are also sold on other sights at the same time as the on sale because there are season ticket holders for that venue that might decide that they can't make that particular event, so they place them for sale.
I hope I have answered all of your concerns. Make sure you continue to check the website to see if the tickets that went over the ticket limit go back up for sale.
