Artproject story pt 2 / just for fun!

Proportionately there is a huge amount of recordings for this current project before i was sure what sort of songs would make sense.  Over the past two years i have encountered so many different methods for trying to make new music that have all added up to where i am now.  Today finally i was sure to say, I am hoping for a certain amount of songs to complete, and I need to choose which ones will be completed earlier to get a feel for completing the others.  Now i am focusing my occasional direct work and frequent indirect thinking and dreaming on three of seven songs and leaving room for two other songs that may come about in the process of working on the first three.

I would not work on music if it didn't feel the way it does!  In no way do i feel as mundanely about the process as it might sound in the somewhat dry descriptions above.  I am just trying to sort out the current process and am happy to show someone else what is being felt as well!

It feels like i am often starting from the very beginning.  This will be the first album with real song structure and vocals and although some artists of music and related work can learn songwriting early, for me it has taken years of patience making abstract and improvised songs without vocals before the current songs have emerged in a way that feels natural.

From last spring the plan was to instead of an album have the current work be more of a project than an album.  There is again such a daunting amount of sound recording and ideas/poems... less visual artwork than i would like... but it is exciting for someone otherwise not having much art with which to work to have what often feels like too much to recall at a given time, just as one's own conscious interpretation of memory itself and memories themselves.

poems next time!  more free writing than details...   and eventually music to post : )    even without an audience it is exciting, always tomorrow is a leap day, transformation reveals itself as self-aware.
