Emergency Appeal to Defend Pain Patient Rights

Dear Radiohead Friends,Sorry to bother you with an issue that may not be of interest to you and possibly considered too personal; but this is an issue that will affect millions in The States and of course my wife and I very deeply. I think it would even be appropriate for folks from the UK, Canada and elsewhere respond to this if you can find the time to send a short message to register disgust with a country that would consider such a horrible policy. Here is an extremely important call for immediate action from the American Pain Foundation dated June 9th._______________________________________________________________________________________It says in part:URGENT CALL TO ACTION!The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) may remove important pain medications from the market or could very likely limit access to certain pain medications that are currently legally prescribed to millions of Americans suffering from pain. The FDA needs to hear how vital access to these medications is to people with pain and what tragic results could occur if they were denied access to these medications or if additional barriers were created making access more difficult for people who are legally prescribed these medications.ACTION REQUESTEDSend a letter to the FDA sharing your story about how their decisions would impact you or your loved one. The FDA MUST receive your letters by Tuesday, June 30th, so don’t delay. The pertinent addresses are at the sitehttp://action.painfoundation.org/site/MessageViewer?em_id=9981.0&printer_friendly=1.The APF statement and sample testimony is also given. The Entire CALL TO ACTION IS AT : http://www.painfoundation.org/ _____________________________________________________________________________________Needless to say if they limit, temporarily or permanently ban such pain medications it will extremely limit activity level and quality of life for millions of chronic pain sufferers like my wife Carol and myself. It could very likely result in the deaths of tens of thousands of people who can nor longer live with the pain and limitation of their lives. Please write a short note if possible to send to the FDA hearings at the addresses listed in the APF CALL TO ACTION and point out chronic pain sufferers should not have to pay for those who choose to abuse useful and essential pain medication. Chronic pain patients will either have to deal with being totally incapacitated, get pain medications from other sources or result to suicide to deal with such a barbaric policy.Carol and I thank you for your time,Bronson Rozier
