Doves

Saw Doves live for the first time last week in Bristol. What an experience! We got there early 'cause we weren't sure what time they would be on and so got a great view. They played most of Kingdom of Rust and a good sprinkling of old stuff to a packed Academy audience who behaved perfectly - in that I didn't have anyone next to me who thought they could sing better and so louder than the band.They really delivered a great set and at the end of the tour it was still fresh and vibrant. Their brand of intense anguished lyrics and melodies manage to be at the same time uplifting somehow. This latest album was well worth waiting for.
