God damn your soul and want for
proof’s fair examination.
(For the record, we’ve got our
sheriff’s wand for that.)

The pope shook his wedding cake
out of the box and showed it off
to everyone. That while I took a deep-

er breath and plunged into a little speech
about the monster truck rally where Elvis
had his latest abduction, taking some
toaster burn out of his toast to be quite sure
no one would pay no heed; however,
every hedon was breathless and touched
and breathless. That’s when the clown rapped
down from the rafters like a phantom from
an opera gripping tight, with his white church-
bell gloves, my holster and bowtie, whispering:
Your leathered performance was so beautiful,
Doris!–I saw your energy and pitiful courage
reflected in the deadbolts of our neighbors’ eyes,
and how they brought back memories for some.

Tooth pain for others. That’s when the song broke
off in the middle of the long and winding road and
the clown got out of my van’s back seat, letting go

of his balloons in some Nevadean moonrich spot
where the spotlight’s always shining up and raining
down. Meanwhile, I was glad to have my mother
holding my hand while I scream cried–one last
small step before this man rolled off for summer camp
on a school bus that lately matches my canvas shoes.

It felt like rehab all over again; can I say that:
the ping-pong, the equine, the bonbons of fire?
JUST DO IT LOUD AND GRADUATE LIKE A
NIKE SWOOSH! and that’s when my blinders
were drawn tight, shut, on: honest to Allah, boss!–
all I ever confessed to the clergyman about heaven
and being the only journeyman to China never to have
read the New Testament; what I meant to say, Pa,

there’s no need to get all cozy and loud; all we talked
about quietly revolved on a spinning plate around the
recurring dream of a carousel, which we’ve both had,
sleeping past life’s alarm while failing first grade’s
algebra test. I woke up in a wheelbarrow beside some
rain water.* All this incessant inversion keeps catching
up with me. Just this past Wednesday morning,
I strolled out for evening worship, wearing one sock
and my best sear-surfing suit. Perhaps, I slipped the otter
off like an offering as the deacon placed his plate of gold
on my lap and the grace of my father’s sermon drifted
out of the sinagogue while I swayed off towards
those darker moments where, with a left hand, I’ve had
to dribble a gold wet basketball through this storm.

Sleep

I do not sleep very much.   There are reasons for this that I understand and reasons I don't.  When I can't sleep I sometimes come to this site.  I find it soothing.   it supports my theory that there is a universal unconscious, and although I am rarely there, a dream world that we share.  We might not meet each other there, but I suspect it's one big landscape, planet, cosmos. And there are feelings in dreams we never experience when we are awake.   Although one night i saw something on the street that was terrifying and foretold of death, and that was like a feeling from a dream.   Unencumbered by the editor in my brain. Pure pulse of terror.   And I will never know what happened to the people I saw on that precipice of murder.   I was simply driving by at the darkest moment of a life,  I think.

I never dream of Radiohead.   I don't know if I want to.   It's strange enough that they exist in my imagination separately from their own being.   As do all of you.

Sweet dreams.   Here's the best lullaby, and one of the most beautiful parts?   "One, two three..."

And I think, how can anybody sleep when there is something this beautiful to be found when you are awake?

Down is the new up Top (handmade)- Mom's Day

Today was Mom's Day- and as a real radiohead's fan my mom deserved something special. I bought her a top and personalized it for her with some drawings I made on it with this...permanent special marker for clothes or so....And there is obviously A moon upon a stick, and Thom...Climbing up...not the walls this time!...Or may be a somersault...as you like, as you like...

Radiohead and Liars #1

A short reflection with more to follow.Radiohead's opening with All i need surely was unexpected, and for the first few songs the microphone used by Thom was turned up quite nicely and you could hear a lot of detail in the voice. This happened a lot during the show. "people have been talking", Thom's vocal performances have been great lately. Sail to the moon and airbag of course. There there, of course! During the concert there were stunning pairings of songs which I'm sure lots of people were aware of and inspired by in the audience.... after Idioteque, Morning Bell was played, sending shockwaves through the audience! That sort of thing always gets us, to pair songs together like on the album. ; ) Back in the day I read and it looked like they used to pair Climbing up the walls and No Surprises which must have been just as good. Then the thunderous performance of Where I End and You Begin was followed, really quickly, by its twin, that being Optimistic as they have a similar idea explored in each, in the lyrics anyway! The overhead lights, which used really vibrant colors, flashed huge and red through Optimistic. ....More later.

Liars set was great. I brought field glasses and used them to observe their musicianship more closely than I could squint my eyes. Several songs I knew, three or four by name, but some I didn't. One song used a drum machine or drum programmer of some kind with fantastic sounds used within it. The drumset was exciting to hear, turned up very loud, but when scoping out the drummer the slightly muddied rumble made more sense as I could connect what drum he struck with the sound that spat through the amphitheatre. The Tibetian or Indian songs played before Liars and after Radiohead were really really exciting. They were clear, obviously not from an mp3 player ; ) .... Hopefully like a few years ago someone will post on Dead Air Space explaining what those were and where to find them.
