Dreams— The Storm

The Storm.
Surrender, surrender, surrender all; The voice of the wind, the waves, the mighty voice of thunder making the light split the sky with a sword. The best of the wind washing in thick lapping torrents whip as cotton sheets spread to fold over or straighten. Surrender surrender surrender ALL. The depth above as the depth below. Floating between the unseen. I surrender all. I am, I am, I am...so...small.
To: Long Lost Dreams of my past Lovers,
You float on a calm dark night with white sails surrendered to the moon. A ghost ship of lost memories and hopes and dreams turned to foam. The wind is stirring and the waves knocking and clacking at the side of the boat, gently rocking, a lullaby. Half asleep. Looking up restless—every star in the sky shines as pinpricks punctured/sewn out of the fabric of time—thin veils of clouds swoon and moan; weak and tired widowed memories, webbed across the black night. A thousand times a thousand times more — I’ve sailed the seas and lost the war. Loves eternal echo calling back to me and you, ‘ love never fails’
I love you forever, until the end of time.

Eric,

I figured I’d be hearing from you eventually. No, I did not look forward to it having dealt with manic depressives on numerous occasions in the past. I don’t know if that’s your issue and (maybe) running around naked in the mountains will garner a few previously unknown readers, but my concern is whether you can hold it together long enough to get your book out. I don’t want to put my time into it and have you disappear down some rabbit hole. I’ve already lost a week of my life I will never get back due to the Pinesong debacle.

No, we would not still be on schedule for this fall. I have accepted easily 40 manuscripts since you went off the rails and am now scheduling for 2020.

As for sending the manuscript, I can’t do anything with a PDF, so just send a standard WORD file. The Table of Contents should have the titles in the order in which they appear, but no tabs or spacing of any kind on either side and no page numbers—since they will inevitably be wrong. Just a list of poem titles.

You can propose art for the cover, but I’m the final word on that.

Scott
