Speaking of Stanley Donwood and why Lost Angeles is genius, I was going to hit up the opening reception alone..
Spent a good portion of my day completing some coursework and rummaging through the garage looking for one of my favorite (if not the) CDs, but I ran out of luck—The Eraser had managed to erase itself.
Time was creaking in on me so I rushed in to the shower then ran a few errands and after hopped on the freeway. See originally I'd decided to Metro in to the city alone but then I was like, "fuck.. our public transportation system is shit." But so are the freeways.
Well, what was I to do? I was running late already. Oh, and did I mention that I'd made it a date?
So I went over to her house and we smoked the surplus Quail I had from Coachella and before I knew it the tape player was regurgitating Jacuzzi Boys and the car was in motion heading up the 605.
I'd also planned to stop by the store to get a silver Sharpie for the Eraser vinyl I'd grabbed instead on my way out of the house but as you could probably foretell, that plan was also derailed.
See I was looking for my CD copy of The Eraser earlier that day so I could get it autographed at the show's opening reception, given the situation was adequate enough to ask for one. But since it was lost in the realm of moving several times in the past few years I was forced to choose vinyl format—I keep my records readily accessible.
And so at one point while anticipating the 5 and vacillating between Sharpie or not I decided it was too late—it was a straight shot to Echo Park and we were already on the freeway. I asked Halle to flip through the notebook I wrote some directions in and to read them out loud once she found them.
"Merge onto the 5. Then get on the 101."
After long contemplations to the sound of her voice I smirked with eureka: we were lost en route to Lost Angeles, swaying with the curvature of the interstate as we drove and drove, burning all the gas I'd theoretically saved on my loyal steed back home.

I have been a fan of Other Lives since 2010 and seeing them at Coachella was a pretty surreal experience. They are on another level, pioneers of a sort, just like Radiohead—except they bring something new to the table. Heck, why else would they open for them?
If the avant-garde got together to form a Legion, be sure Other Lives have secured their spot.
Or.. has this Legion of Artists already been created?
The question is not rhetorical and the answer is yes. Thom Yorke, Jonny and Colin Greenwood, Ed O'brien, Phil Selway, and [now] Clive Deamer, Nigel Godrich, Stanley Donwood, Flea, Shepard Fairey.. are only a few names that belong to this Legion.
It is decentralized, still forming, and always open to newcomers.
Got tickets to all the American shows in May/June! Thinking of going to Montreal and Toronto too! Hope to see some of you along the way.
Anyone who has seen or read enough Thom Yorke interviews knows he prefers fans to separate the man from the music. Don't confuse the lyrics with who he is. To take that a step further, our ideas of how he would behave in certain situations isn't him either.
Lets just say that in reality it's absolutely true that he won't eat steak tonight. It's also true that my inner vision of him won't eat steak either. So a lot of what we picture as "him" is bound to match the truth. But again, our picture of him isn't him.
That being said, I want to know what your inner Thom would say to my inner Thom. What happens when these figments talk to each other?
INNER THOM:
Right... other Thoms, I know your out there. This irritating woman has put me up to this weird project. I'm not quite sure if I'll get on with other versions of myself. But, I thought I'd give it a go. If I don't, she'll have me singing "God loves his children" in a sneering voice for the seventh time in a row... make that eight. Any of you other Thoms getting enough broccoli?
AND THIS IS WHAT'S HAPPENING
RIGHT
NOW

you've got to be kidding me
I'm will be attending my second Radiohead concert and cannot wait! As soon as tickets went on sale I purchased two. I’ve been a fan since ’97 and know all of their material. Unfortunately, for me I don’t have any friends who are Radiohead fans. A friend of mine is going with me, however is unfamilur with the band and their music. His style of music is more like 80's Pop. My fear is going to see my favorite band and having a bad time because I'm with someone isn't having fun either. Just wondering if anyone else has had a simular experience or advise.
Hold you down by one little plane
The next release set for Four Tet mastermind Kieran Hebden's Text label is Into the Trees, a new full-length from Chicago psychedelic folk artist Kathryn Bint, aka One Little Plane. The album drops on May 7; you've heard "She Was Out in the Water", and now here's another track, "Hold You Down". Both songs feature Radiohead's Colin Greenwood on bass.

Just when I was thinking of entering,
The guard came so close to me
I didn't know what he wanted from me,
He kept on blabbering.
I didn't understand a word he said,
But I knew what I had to do,
When you know you have everything you want to,
You realise entering would be quite sad.
My decision was wise for the moment.
Great family, great friends, great hair,
Got wishes that could tear anyone apart ( but they'll come true )
So I decided to be free, jump in the torrent.
What is the torrent?
I just got through listening to Amnesiac for the first time. As of now, here's a list of my favorite tracks off of the album (in order):
1. "You and Whose Army?"
2. "Pyramid Song"
3. "Life in a Glasshouse"
4. "Like Spinning Plates"
5. "Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box"
6. "I Might Be Wrong"
7. "Morning Bell/Amnesiac"
8. "Knives Out"
9. "Dollars and Cents"
10. "Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors"
11. "Hunting Bears"

Radiohead Fan Fiction
PART 6:
A week later. Thom and the band are ready to play another concert. But all is not well.
ED: (to himself) after the show, I'm gonna kill Thom...
COLIN (to himself) after the show, I'm gonna kill Jonny...
JONNY: (to himself) I know all about what Colin is trying to plan, and I'll get him before he gets me...
THOM: (to himself) I'm hungry...
The crowd gets louder and louder. Finally, they start to play The National Anthem. But it sounds really lame since they don't have a drummer, and Jonny is too preoccupied to do the sound effects, and Thom is too distracted by the thought of food to sing, and Ed's guitar isn't real. Basically, it's just colin plucking the wrong notes (cause he's nervous)
After the song, there is dead silence, except for one man
MAN: PLAY CREEP!!
THOM: (out of it) what?
MAN: PLAY CREEP!
THOM ...what?
30 minutes later...
Thom has gotten some granola bars, Colin and Jonny are staring at each other, and Ed is on his cell phone asking if someone has prince albert in a can
MAN: PLAY CREEP!
THOM: Oh ok. Let's go guys, Creep!
Thom begins to do a weird little dance and mumbles some stuff, Colin plays Punch-up, Jonny starts the aribag riff, and Ed is ordering pizza.
Again, once they finish the "song", its dead silence
MAN: CREEP!
THOM: Oh, ok.
The band does a sturring of Myxomatosis.
MAN: CREEP!
THOM: (eating a granola bar) What?
By this time, Ed has completely disappeared, and Jonny and Colin are in a slap fight.
(sigh) we'll catch up with these guys later
to be continued...
PART 8
Thom wakes up in his hotel room. It is the day after.
THOM: What a horrible dream! Strange that it lasted a week, but oh well.
He turns on the news.
REPORTER: OK, the police are looking for this man, Thom Yorke (picture)
THom's not getting fooled again. He just sits there, smugly.
REPORTER: No. Really. We really think he killed Phil.
THOM: Yawn
REPORTER: Really
THOM: Ho-hum
REPORTER: Pinky swear
THOM: AAAAAAHHHHHHH! (dives under bed)
Suddenly, a knock at the door. It is the 2 detectives!!
DET: Hello? My. Yorke
