Thank you so much Rey Carbono & Hayen Mill, photos and information from Sigur Rós website

SPLIT SIDES !

Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood reveals to Billboard.com that on opening night, each group will perform 20 minutes of live music with a twist: the dancers "won't have heard the music until they start."

"It is raising lots of interesting problems about what dance music is," Greenwood admits. "We're talking about the bands crossing from one to the other or sorting out a structure. It could be interesting. Maybe we'll all kind of surprise each other and do the opposite kind of music that we're known for."

"Split Sides" will also be staged Oct. 16-18 at BAM, with the dancers performing to a combination of pre-recorded music and live musicians attempting to recreate the Radiohead and Sigur Ros compositions. A similar arrangement will be utilized when Cunningham's troupe performs the piece elsewhere.

"Musicians copying what we're doing sounds bizarre to me," says Greenwood. "I feel for them! We only just know what we're doing. I'm sure it will be easy for them, but it just might be a bit weird."

A BAM spokesperson says Cunningham will add to the improvisational nature of the piece by employing two different stages and two different sets of costumes, allowing for various future permutations of the performance. Ticket information is not yet available, but the Oct. 14 debut will be a fundraiser of some kind.

We’ve had some queries about the sigur rós and radiohead collaboration. in september last year we informed you that sigur rós and radiohead are planning on writing music together for renowned dance choreographer Merce Cunningham‘s upcoming piece, to be premiered in new york city in october 2003. this news is now suddenly, for some reason, breaking in at various media publications but we have nothing new to report about the matter. at this stage it’s too early to tell what the collaboration will be like exactly but we’ll let you know as soon as there is progress in the matter.  SOURCE

Split sides was a departure for mcdc in that, for the first time, the music was by two bands: radiohead, the british alternative rock group, and sigur rós, the experimental group from iceland. radiohead played live for the first performance only, sigur rós for many subsequent performances. at later performances, elements of radioheads contribution were played back in a recording, with some manipulation by mcdc musicians. neither band had seen the dance company before; the musicians of sigur rós constructed a kind of xylophone made of pointe shoes, connected to contact microphones.

Fool deductions... (updated)

image

I wrote this text weeks before J Greenwood talk about the band and new album, but as far i can see, i was right! read my next deductions guys...

I have a feeling that a new Radiohead album will come out, soon, and i support this deductions. Im a designer, and in the (new) website and I've seen a few things that have caught my attention, and I have listed, which perhaps, could tell us something about A NEW ALBUM.

  • The new typography for RADIOHEAD (above)…
  • …and in all the website:

image

All the new albums came with a new kind of font and "text distribution" don´t you belive me? just check the back of inrainbows and TKOL; Kid A is also a very good example. In addition, Mr. Stanley made the last Glastonbury poster and look like:

glastonbury2014kida.jpg

(source: http://www.radioheadchile.com/es-radiohead-el-tercer-grupo-cabecera-de-glastonbury-2014/ )

can you check what im saying?

  • Website "home":

image

Have anybody focus on what are looking? For me isn't just pixels and colors, i think that is  a video with some distortion or sh**. If your look closely, isn't to hard to see some shapes and silohuettess or something, idk.

  • Schedule (1 Jun

image

I swear by the the gods i dont manipulate the image, but when i visited the schedule the last time, this is what i found... it's an error? a secret date? THE RECORDING OF "OK COMPUTER" FROM THE BASEMENT?!... idk

  • but above all, this:

image

i almost can read the title of a new album in the top of this list...

The images we captured in Polyfauna can be like what we did with in "In Rainbows"? that you could create your own rainbow and that … I KNOW that almost all members have said almost nothing about a new album, i belive they are hiding something. Remember the double X when they were about to launch In rainbows? all were clues to assemble a “binary” album with OK Computer. It’s a mystery what they did in the study of Jack White; the relase of Identikit and Cut a Hole in the past tour …

And please, (against all odds)  if some member of the band read this, do not be angry with me for my stupid deductions, i'm just desperate to hear something new from my all time fav band.

Hope your comments Radiofans, greetings.

Tribute band Radiohead Cover Brasil was founded in 2010, in the city
of São Paulo. The band's setlist includes songs from all of
Radiohead's albums and strives to be as faithful to the band's
original sound as possible. Back in 2012, Radiohead Cover Brazil took

current setlist is based on Radiohead's greatest hits through the
years, such as Creep, Fake Plastic Trees, Karma Police, There There
and Lotus Flower. The band now returns to the stage after a six-month
long hiatus, to great acclaim and sold out tickets.

True Love Waits - Radiohead/Thom Yorke Cover

Here's our FINALIZED/UPGRADED cover of True Love Waits by Radiohead/Thom Yorke. All vocals were done by me and all guitars were played by my dad and other instruments were programmed by him. Interestingly, he also added a string section to our cover, so it's more like a 'full band version'. Hope you like it! This is one of my favourite songs ever.

365Stories

Coming to an end soon will be my project, 365Stories, to write a story a day every day for a year. It's been fun, annoying, hard working, monotonous, labouring and above all disruptive to my evenings, but in exactly 60 days I will be finishing my project. In fact, I started on Thom Yorke's birthday and will be finishing the day before. I've had views from around the world and even mentioned in a literary magazine.

It's been fun writing for people, though I'm not sure how many read the entire story! It's also been fun reading the google searches - I do get some odd ones! Some ex-rated ones too!!!

Would love more people to read my stories - any and all feedback is welcome. They are not long - usually between 500-700 words and some of them are serial - so there are several parts to them.

If you are interested in reading them, please visit my website - www.365stories.co.uk

Look forward to singing with you all who are going to the Amsterdam gig on the 14th!

Dunedin band Hunting Bears take just a smidge of  their influence from the frontrunners, Radiohead. Ok, perhaps a  bit more than a smidge, but inspiration is everything in today's world. We need to keep inspired in order to continue living, to quit just killing time while we wait for the little row boat to take us to heaven. It's hard though when George's dystopia resounds everywhere, climbing up the walls of even the most optimistic of people. It gets us down, but one day we'll grow wings.

The New Zealand band Hunting Bears want to open for Radiohead. Not for the fame, not for the glory, but because we give a toss about what we're playing. Do some research, find our track 'Sweetheart'. Make up your own mind.

Hey guys!

It's day 245 at 365stories... Take a look at what I've already managed to painfully, exhaustedly, strenuously and by some miracle (Cue Phil Selway) have written every day for the last 245 days (I started on day 0). So far I have managed to write sci fi, thriller, comedy (sometimes not by intention), horror (check out Day 69) and attempted love story, plot devices and characterisation. I hope I have at least entertained someone - if only for a few moments!

Happy to receive criticism and comments!

And if I can even vaguely make this to do with Radiohead.... I met Thom Yorke once and chatted to him in the street?

Steph
