THE MINOTAUR
LAZARDIES AND KOFLER & KOMPANIE PRESENT THE MINOTAUR AND PRET A DINER - AT THE OLD VIC TUNNELS. FROM 10TH TO THE 25TH OCTOBER 2011
In a innovative partnership with Steve Lazardies, KP Kofler will introduce PRET A DINER to the London stage for the very first time, with top Michelin-starred chefs Nuno Mendes (Viajante, London), Matthias Scmidt (Villa Merton, Frankfurt), Ollysan and Juan Amador (Amador, Manheim).
Steve Lazardies has comissioned artist from his international stable to each create their own interpretation of the classical myth 'The Minotaur' within a stunning Labyrinth installation
The Minotaur is finally open to the public after an outstanding turn out on Monday evening for the Opening Party with hauds of guests queuing down the street after we maxed capacity inside the tunnels. A massive Lazarides thank you to everyone that came to celebrate with us and we hope you all enjoy the show overthe next two weeks.
Having taken over The Old Vic Tunnels for the second year in a row, the subterranean space connected to the famous South London theatre, street art gallerist Steve Lazarides has seriously upped the ante for his latest exhibition, 'Minotaur'. Incorporating a deeply disconcerting maze featuring a sonic installation by Thom Yorke, a large-scale mesmerizing abstract film projection reflected in an ominous and regal pool of water, two sculptures made from what appear to be dead rats, graphic footage of bullfighting shown on loop in a cinema and a lavish secret pop-up restaurant by German restaurateurs Pret A Diner, amongst other things, this is more visual theatre than your average art exhibition.

Stanley Downwood about the Minotaur said: "I spent a week in the tunnels building the black labyrinth, with a lot of help from many people. The structure is called Mithras Tauroctonos Subterranea."
