Hey there. I'm thanking President Obama for rejecting the Keystone XL Pipeline. It was a dirty deal and he knew it and stood up against it to save our health and environment!
If you want to join me in thanking him:

It will work.
Just an answer
You will know when you´re lost
White or black, good or bad
I´m sure you will choose wrong.
When you are at the bottom
You begin to rise up
You thought you were there
But then you find a much deeper hole.
No one will help this time, you are alone again.
Just wait for it
Is closer than you think
We hope you´re strong enough to resist the final hit.
We hope you can survive, we know you´ll give your best
We are sure you will rise up and never fall again.

So this is not new...But still relatively recent. Felt like this post warranted a disclaimer of some sort. As I weave my way through an internet that seems to be completely on strike today, LEVI's Pioneer Sessions surfaced, with covers by The Kills, She & Him, Passion Pit and The Shins. Not a bad selection for a day where the act of viewing a webpage requires extensive use of the 'cache' feature.
The Kills try out the Velevt Underground classic 'Pale Blue Eyes', while She & Him continue in their classical footsteps with old-timey 60's favorite 'Fools Rush In' done by Elvis, Frank Sinatra and many others. Passion Pit creatively reinvents Smashing Pumpkins' 1995 jam 'Tonight, Tonight'. Last but not least, The Shins create a jaunty tune out of 'Goodbye Girl' originally done by Squeeze.
If you've heard these--apologies--if not, enjoy!

anybody know when these puppies go on sale?
I stumbled across this cover of Radiohead's 'Paranoid Android' by Weezer and I just had to share. Not a huge fan of Weezer, with the exception of a few songs that simply require going nuts when heard (ie. Say It Ain't So). Although the quality could use a tune-up its at least not a microphone held up to a tape player. That'd be ridic.

if youre wondering if i want you to [listen], i want you to...
The other day was quite a gloom n' doom sort of day here in the Big Apple. Nothing juicy and red about it at all. So here is a list of cover songs by some known, and some not-so-well-known players on the music circuit these days. They all seemed to compliment the mood of the day exceptionally well.

Ruthie & Zach from Mount Weak deliver a haunting, simple, stripped down version of the upbeat, funky jam 'Heartbeats'. Complete with acoustic guitars, echoing vocals and other ethereal noises, this one packs more emotional content into the song than I previously thought possible.
