That's how this page welcomed me this morning. Made me a bit angry. I closed it straight away since I had to run to the bus after printing a few articles I had to read and highlight during the 30-minute trip to the hospital...LACKING TIME, MY FRIENDS!!!I wonder who really has the time to have a blog and post regularly. It's like if life brings its lot of responsibilities that make your spare time really rare. Bored teenagers? People who can pretend they are working while online? Retired people? But you made that page, what are you whining about? you say, with your usual wisdom.Of course you're right. I guess I was just thinking, in a kind of fantasy, that I'd be able to put plenty of interesting stuff on this page? Well. Maybe one day!In the meantime, I'm just complaining, which I do really well when I really want to. But I must confess that not getting enough sleep can turn you into a green grinch with an ugly furred coat and a funny hat.Not why don't you go back to these articles, silly girl?

Leave My Spoons Alone

I suspect that there is a devious and cunning force at work which maneuvers spoons in my kitchen sink.I am yet to witness this in action but i understand the sly, malicious and complex nature of such a force. This disgusting entity I will name "Dave".I have come to realize that the intention of these maneuvers is to leave spoons facing upwards, directly underneath my hot water tap. This causes the water to rebound in an aggressive fashion towards me each time i use the tap.If Dave does not withdraw from this relentless and outright evil attack, I will be forced to remove all spoons from the premises.

Kid 17

I found an album that is Kid A played twice at the same time but the second time is 17 seconds behind. In a weird way, it matches up well. You should check it out.

Ivan Brunetti!

Oh how I love Ivan Brunetti. Let me count the ways: his undeniable love of kitties whilst tearing down humanity's villainous ego, the biographies of people that I am very fond of (Val Lewton, Louise Brooks, Erik Satie), the biographies of people I never would have given a damn about (etc), he named a book HAW!, he's friends (and idolizes) Chris Ware, and he's funny. Read Schizo everybody.

Without Any Hassel For Me !

So with all of the pre-sales, I was lucy to get tickets before Saturday. I was at work, so I relied on my boyfriend to get the job done. which kinda made me nervious. I am a semi pro at the ticket game. The key word is PATIENCE and spend time on ticketmaster during an onsale. Some people do not have this quality but to my surprise he did a really good job because I got a text at work that we had tickets in J1. I was hopeing for J2, K1, or K2 but hey, I am there!!!!!!!On Saturday I did try and call on my way to work because I had one more try to get closer. I got through on the Fresno number knowing LA would be flooded with calls (which it was). I was too early, and once 10 am hit, on ticketmaster time ofcorse, all I I got when I tried to call was "all curcuits are busy". I gave up pretty easy knowing I was lucky to have tickets to begin with.( and I need to budget, i am not 25 anymore, lol)I have been in J1 before for other shows, and it is not a bad seat persay, but I have also have had box and terrace seats.

Blog, blag, blig, blah...

Okay, I tried this once before with little or no success. In all honesty, my life is quite boring, for the time being at least, and I don't know how many of you really truly care about what occurs in my life on a day to day basis.Screw it.Spent last evening at my friend Robyn's house; used to work with her at Ambassador Video. Heather, another former employee was in attendance as was Robyn's husband Craig, their beautiful son Malcolm, and their dog Luna.We drank, we smoked, we laughed, listened to music. Heard Drive By Truckers for the first time and am now hooked.Got home around midnight and proceeded to talk to my ex-boyfriend on MSN until 430am. We broke up about 2 months ago, well, I actually left without warning. Long, sordid story there, one which I am not in the mindset to get into. He's moving to Fort McMurray, Alberta in less than 2 weeks for a job, and for some reason, wants me to go with him, to start over, where noone knows us, yaddayaddayadda. It won't be hard to find employment there, as the bank I work at currently is in dire need of help at the branch located in Fort McMurray, as luck would have it. Yeah, I've made the inquiries, re-applied to that branch. Maybe I'm crazy for even contemplating the idea of just up and moving to a place where I know not a single soul, save for him. Taking into account the way in which things ended between us makes it even more strange to want to do it. I dunno, there's some connections of the heart and mind that you make in life, with people, that are everlasting. It's almost like the stars are perfectly aligned in our favour.I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't miss my family, as psychotic and dysfunctional as they are. They remind me daily of just how normal I am. But you gotta follow your heart sometimes, and at the moment, it looks like my heart will be boarding a plane bound for Fort McMurray in less than 2 weeks, never to return.*sigh*.....How I long for my childhood sometimes, when the biggest decision you had to make in a day was whether or not to have Froot Loops or Lucky Charms for breakfast....to be continued....I'm sure.

Hmmm...which way do you think?

Which way do you think would look better around the belly? This in gray, just the way its done in the picture (except the ends connected, the way I've drawn it up in the second picture), or all in green - completely Irish ;) ?Oh, and btw, the second picture is just to show color - the exact details and shading would be done the same way as the first (except with the linked ends). The other one's just a quick sketch up.

IF YOU HAVE 5 SECONDS TO SPARE...

...then i'll tell you the story of my life.nah, more like a petty rant. it's a blog, after all. i initially was a little bit suss about joining this network as it seemed (i don't know) a little narrow. radiohead are obviously massive, but is joining a fan-site better than the regular networking sites?well, the answer is a resounding yes. the number of great songs i've managed to pilfer off of all of you is proof of that.(wait? where's the rant? oh, right...)of course, at the moment i'm unable to upload any of my library. wrong format, see? aaaarrrgggh!!! what's the difference between sony atrac files, mp3s, wmas and the rest? essentially, nowt. leave it to the record companies (an industry that's been in existence for a small fraction of the time people have loved and shared music) to find a way to screw up the most exciting change in music distribution for, well... ever.i used to like i-tunes (easy format to play with, even for a luddite like me) but i've binned it, same with windows media player, sony sonic stage, the creative software. do they really think that any of the small fraction of money they make from digital rights management ("for the artists", apparently), will make up for the ill-will they've generated in their customer base? that's not counting the companies that have started taking music lovers to court (funny how the big commercial pirates never seem to go out of business, isn't it?).as my late, great, grandfather would say, "bunch of airseholes"...this site, with it's diversity, shows that there is still a massive number of people who love the good stuff, not the brain-dead fodder served up by the conglomerates (i include several supposedly "independent" artists in this). the fact that emi dropped 80 million quid on jobbie williams, then watched radiohead leave and release an album without them is proof that sometimes, the good guys win.(eee-emmm-iiii! someone should write a song about them...)i saw the pixies play to 40,000 people in edinburgh, without a record deal.(did you know the pixies split on my 15th birthday? bastards! no wonder i'm tri-polar)the new james album was done without them, too. james, famously played two sold-out nights at the manchester g-mex, without a record deal and the radio wouldn't play them, because "there was no interest". the worm, people, is beginning to turn and, if you've ever had to spare five seconds for anyone who works in the record industry, that can only be the best news you'll hear this year. vive la revolution!i love you all, steve x.

Procrastination...

I have two research papers and two exams to finish within the next two to three weeks. The board, my bike, non-relevant books, cleaning, and catching up on television series online all seem to be ridiculously appealing at the moment. Oh, and internet shopping; I just bought some penicillin chrysogenum, pox - syphilis (treponema pallidum), and bookworm (anobium punctatum) cuddly toys. :D

Blog
