After nine years of racing, Billy Tyree finally left the track a champion this past month. The Burnt Chimney native took the lead and ultimately the race in a last lap move at the 2012 U.S. Open Wheel Championship in Etters, Pa. It is the biggest event of the year for radio controlled dirt oval racing.
The entire arena cheered as 24-year-old Tyree’s car crossed the finish line to win the race. The loudest applause came from Billy’s father, Tim Tyree, who stood beside the track and expressively cheered his son to victory. He waved his arms wildly as the cars took their final turns and fell to the ground in tears as his son crossed the finish line first.
“The place went crazy,” Tim Tyree said when describing the end of the race. “I was a nervous wreck.”
Billy Tyree has become a standout in the radio controlled dirt oval racing scene. He has managed to battle his way near the top of the national points standings even while fighting muscular dystrophy.
Muscular dystrophy has confined him to a wheelchair in recent years, but Billy was still able to masterfully work the remote control for his race car. Billy out drove everyone at the Bumps and Jumps RC Speedway on Dec. 16 for the championship.
Billy Tyree won the race with a time of 4:02.441. He moved ahead on the last lap to finish only a fraction of a second faster than the second place finisher, who crossed the line with a time of 4:02.671.
The crowd cheered as Billy made his way through the pack and they erupted in applause as he crossed the finish line. Several of the drivers gathered around him and his father to congratulate them after the win.
“When they’re not racing me, they’re rooting for me,” Billy Tyree said of the other drivers.
Billy Tyree and his father have become favorites in the radio controlled racing community. It is easy to see why when meeting the duo. They have both become big fans of the sport.
Billy Tyree started racing radio-controlled cars at the age of 15. It was around that time that his neighbor introduced him to the sport and took him to a local track in Chatham. The track, Cooper’s RC Race Center, is now a second home for Billy.
“I picked it up pretty quickly,” Billy said.
What started out as an occasional weekend trip quickly turned into a serious hobby. His father, after noticing his son’s passion for the sport, began to help out. Tim now calls himself the crew chief for his son’s race team. He helps to prepare each of his cars for race day.

With the developement of new technology the mediums in which we define art (music, photo or otherwise) is also more diverse, expanding and evolving, giving us the ability to explore and do more! In my opinion, just because technology is simplifying things does not devalue the art in itself. What really gets to me is when some people say that what they are doing and how they are doing it is the right way, and to try and tell other's, in a subliminal way, that their method is not the right way because they didn't do it the same.
This is impossible to do because art is expression and everyone has their own idea of how that flows...because it is a way of chanelling something through you. The medium you use is not nearly as important as the outcome and how much it does or does not effect some body. At the end of it all... it really just comes down to you. What you want to do, how far you want to push yourself or not...but for someone to rag on other artist or musicians because they are doing something in a different way (maybe a more simple way-or "cheating") is simply...pointless...and i lose respect for the artist who puts other artists down. It's like saying oh look at me i have done all this un necessary work, and gone way out of my own way to make trouble for myself, to make it interesting, and now i want to get credit for it, and put other people down? Like what the fuck is that? I guess i just have a different point of view when it comes to technical details like that.
... As far as I'm concerned we all are individually THE ART.
Make your life the art and stop trying to define what is or is not. There is no right or wrong way! Its all experimentation and the expressions are endless. WE need to jump outside of the boxes of these catagorizations we've made for ourselves.
To me just the fact that some one put shit into a can, calling it ART... because it's original and they CAN.. can shit and call it art and therefore it is...that blows my mind. It has a brilliance to it ( in it's own fucked up way)... I'm not going to tell that person that it isn't art. It's an impossible arguement. Art is different things to different people. Just like people find different things meaningful. Maybe shit in a can has some sort of deeper meaning to that person? Maybe they just thought it was funny...and wondered if they could get away with doing something so stupid. Maybe it's a pun in the form of an object...it's " shit in a can"...thats art. Maybe what it's really saying is that "art is shit"...because it's however you want to define it...and that is funny, because it's fucking true!
Or the graphitti on the toilet bowl...thats "art" too... and it goes on and on...and our definitions to these things are getting broader and broader...It gets hard to tell where to draw the line!
I mean. I don't know...for me I am drawn to things that move me on a deeper level...spiritually and mentally...and i think most other people would agree with that...and all i know is thats how i can classify what is art to me, personally. The means in which you go about sharing this expression with others is completely up to the individual and it should stay there, getting into comparing who does what...what way...is just stupid. It never produces anything but bitterness. Don't judge. Don't campare. Easy. It makes the person judging look egotistical and like:"look at me"..."look at everything I've done"...and the ego of that takes away from the actual art which is in itself...not even the artist's to begin with... artists just happen to work on chanelling that energy. Maybe ego is arts biggest block!
Some use more effort, some use less. Some do nothing at all...

Anyways. I just watched an interview, and although I like this persons music (And NO I am not talking about Radiohead! another band but it doesn't really matter to say who it was..) Just...all these little side comments about what he does...and what other artists don't do...it just really irritated me...
But NOW I'm the one judging...mmmm. Thats a tricky one. Nothing against this person...his music is great, amazing actually...but he should just get out of the way...thats all. Let the music do the talking.

To welcome New Year 2013, my parents allow me to have a house party with my close friends at the weekend. I’m really happy when hearing that, I could prepare the party by myself. And I need to make plan right now.
Someone said that partying was an essential part of the typical college experience. From school party, picnic, camping to parties at home, there’s never any shortage of things to do at college. I’m a busy student so hardly I did not have enough time to join in all parties at school and at my friends’ house. I have a part-time job as a designer for a website of dress up games. Therefore, this year, I decide to arrange my time for balance between my job and other activities. To begin with my plan, I have a New Year party at home with my friends.

The most important thing to me is finance, therefore I need some suitable with my condition. Besides, accessories are also an essential item to make our dresses or clothes prominent. To make them unique, I want some handmade. The best way is going to markets instead of shops, I can find numerous impressive things here. In addition, the price here is much cheaper. And I love it.
Because this is a house party and my parents will not be at home, I have to prepare food and drink for it. I will order pizza and go to supermarket to buy some drink and ingredients for my dishes. Now, I found that my job help me so much. Drawing dress up games helps me choose clothes better and easier. Sometimes, I draw cooking games, I must search recipes from the internet and describe then through images and step by step instructions. Hence, now cooking to me is quite easier, too and I know more recipes of unique and delicious dishes. I think my friends will be very surprised with my cooking skills. Moreover, I will call some friends coming earlier to help me decorate my house and arrange the table with full of food and drink.
Everything seems to be alright, I hope that my friends will love it. Maybe after this occasion, I will draw a game instructing players to choose outfits and arrange things for the parties at home. That might be a good idea to make it become true. Now, I’m looking forward to my party to welcome a happy new year.
