As usual, can't say if his mixes are good or not. But it helped me keep my sanity these last few weeks, so I guess I'm glad they exist.
And the French accent when telling the tracks' titles is hilarious.
So by now you already know Thom Yorke is an avid supporter of the Occupy Movement, even recently DJ'ing a set with Massive Attack's 3D and Tim Goldsworthy of UNKLE. They set up shop in the basement of a UBS bank building in London where a large group of protestors have set up an occupation.
But wouldnt it be nice to hear these gentlemen's music as well as words about the movement? Well here you go. Just the other night, Thom and 3D held a post-performance interview where they expressed their thoughts about said movement over in London and its significance.

3D also threw his support behind Occupy London earlier this month. Launching a DJ mix series to help raise the profile of the movement, the Massive Attack producer led from the front by supplying his own mix.

Karen O--quite possibly the world's most fashionable hipster ever--has just released word that a new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album is in the works. This is just one more amazing thing to come out of this year's efforts. She was a featured vocalist on David Lynch's album 'Crazy Clown Time' on the track 'Pinky's Dream.' Although any time clowns are involved it's bound to be crazy. She also found time to create and produce a psycho-drug-filled-rock-opera titled 'Stop The Virgens' which premiered in Brooklyn at St. Ann's Warehouse this past October.
So what of this new album?
"I've been tinkering around on some new Yeah Yeah Yeahs music with the boys," Karen O told U.K. paper The Sun in a new interview. No real details beyond that. But Ms. O is known to be cryptic at times which so it could mean a month or even year until we hear something solid. I maintain hope for the former.
In between her other creative duties she has also recorded a heavy cover of Led Zeppelin's 'Immigrant Song' for the upcoming film, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo with Trent Reznor. And what a track it was!
"I plead total ignorance to Led Zeppelin. I am totally in the dark about them. That was the reason I could muster up whatever it took to actually cover that song. I didn't have any reverence for the track as I didn't really know it. When they asked I thought it was called 'The Pilgrim Song'".
Well they say ignorance is bliss, and in this case, our bliss. She may not really know who Led Zeppelin were, or even need to admit it, but the result is top notch. Check it out below.

Le Voyage Dans La Lune es el nombre de la nueva producción de AIR, basada en el legendario filme de Georges Méliès.
Resulta que en 1993, se descubrió una copia coloreada a mano de la cinta de Le Voyage Dans La Lune de Georges Méliès, originalmente proyectada en 1902. Tras un minucioso trabajo de restauración por parte del Technicolor Lab de Los Ángeles, la cinta se restauró y se le pidió a Nicolas Godin y a Jean-Benoît Dunckel (AIR) que se encargaran de musicalizar los 14 minutos del histórico filme.
Fue en el Festival de Cannes de este año cuando por fin fue revelado el restaurado filme de Méliès, que dicho sea de paso, estuvo inspirado en De la tierra a la luna de Julio Verne y en Los primeros hombres en la luna de H.G. Wells.
Después del éxito que el filme tuvo, se anunció que AIR lanzará un nuevo disco, también de nombre Le Voyage Dans La Lune y que estará basado en el soundtrack que el dúo creó para la cinta.
Las Voces de Au Revoir Simone y Victoria Legrand de Beach House serán las encargadas de aparecer en esta nueva producción, que estuvo ideada para ser tocada totalmente en vivo, para lograr un sentimiento orgánico al igual que el del filme.
La nueva producción de AIR saldrá a la venta el próximo 6 de febrero y seguramente será uno de los discos más comentados del próximo año, esto debido a que la edición especial del disco contendrá un DVD con el filme Georges Méliés, restaurado y a color.

Alex James fue el encargado de adelantar que Blur podría regresar al estudio.
Resulta que Alex James no sólo declaró que verá a sus compañeros de banda la próxima semana para celebrar la navidad, sino que también dijo que la agrupación podría entrar al estudio para grabar nuevas canciones.
Al ser cuestionado acerca del regreso de la agrupación con un nuevo álbum, el músico negó que Blur grabé un conjunto de canciones para ser vendidas en un disco, pero adelantó que la banda podría lanzar varios sencillos.
No se sabe si las declaraciones de James son ciertas pero hay que recordar que el mismo Damon Albarn ha dejado entrever que la banda se ve regularmente y que ha estado grabando nueva música; también se ha hablado mucho de una gira de Blur fuera de Reino Unido.
Lo que sí es seguro, es que los miembros de esta legendaria banda recibirán un Brit Award el próximo mes de febrero en la 02 Arena de Londres; dicho galardón será otorgado por los enormes aportes de la agrupación a la música.
El encargado de diseñar los premios será el mismo Sir Peter Blake, quién hace unas décadas fuera el encargado de crear la portada de Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Electro-Mad-Scientist Derek Vincent Smith [Pretty Lights], enjoys warping minds with retro riffs outfitted with modern beats. His remix album splices genres to create his signature body-movers. Working with artists like Notorious B.I.G. [not literally, although that would be something] to Steve Miller as well as Radiohead [Everything In Its Right Place] Nine Inch Nails [Closer] and Nirvana [All Apologies] we end up with some seriously awesome mash-ups.
Not one to stick to the boring, tried-and-true method of mere music combos, he adds his own unique beats, drums and bass to make a more authentic hybrid. And it works. Compiled for your enjoyment and for those seeking their own remix inspiration, are some previously unreleased tracks from Smith. As a bonus, have a listen to a Radiohead '15 Step' mash-up with Dave Brubek's classic 'Take Five' jazz hit courtesy of Overdub.

..A question that I would never have thought to ask, nor one that would have an answer. But if such a child did exist, they might grow up to create music like this. Aussie native Gossling is a brilliant folk singer/songwriter with the piano skills to back it all up. Her first release 'Until Then' is a blend of folk and pop with a sprinkling of country mixed in. Undeniably, her voice is reminiscent of Bjork and Spektor with an incredible range to boot.
Her newest album, 'If You Can't Whistle' [which sadly, I can't] is a bit more edgy and dark. With songs like, 'Hazard' and 'Days Are Over' you can feel the melancholy channeling through her fingers onto the keys. Hazard was also just featured on last night's episode of An American Horror Story on FX.
Album is out now on an Independent label.

Each band has its own history. For some it is one more occasion to get together with friends and play music on Sunday afternoon, for others it’s the reaching of a specific goal, a will to share with people playing gigs. Kind Of Cute is all of this and that.
The band is composed of Luc, kind of crazy guitarist singer who won’t hesitate to take you to his odd world out, Antoine, sound obsessed and psycho guitarist looking for the smallest detail in arrangements, Arnaud, slapy and groovy machine gathering cool vibes and soft riffs, and Thomas, inspired drummer, always sitting in the same best place, between the guitar and the bass.
Even though music got them together, these four guys keep in mind their friendship and their thirst of new experiences.
The sound of K.O.C is based essentially on rock music but mixing styles is the major part of their work. The texts are as diversified as a color’s range. Dealing with everyday’s life in Sad Face in the Morning Train, with a certain vision of the world we live in like in Worms On A Cheese Cake, with the endless debate of love in Dark Angel or Lost In Your Eyes, with drug addiction in Snakes Of Sinuous Songs and even with sex in Sexual Obsession.
Life is mixing styles and mixing style is life.

Próximamente todos los fans de The Chemical Brothers podrán ver uno de sus conciertos en la pantalla grande.
Filmado con 20 cámaras y dirigido por el autor de los visuales que acompañan sus shows, Adam Smith, Don’t Think es el nombre que llevará esta cinta que retrata la actuación de los Chemical en el festival Fuji Rock de este año, en el que Smith logró capturar la locura y la emoción de una presentación en una película tras 18 años de trabajo.
La proyección de Don’t Think será en 20 ciudades del mundo el próximo 3 de febrero, pero habrá funciones previas el 26 de enero de 2012; aquí en el DF será en Cinemark Reforma 222.

La ceremonia se llevará a cabo el próximo 14 de abril de 2012, en Cleveland, Ohio; fueron seleccionados por el jurado debido su trayectoria, influencia y estilo de cada uno en su época.
También el cantautor de los años sesentas, Donovan formará parte del afamado paseo, mientras que The Cure, The Spinners y Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, fueron algunas agrupaciones candidatas que quedaron fuera de la selección.
Para la celebración se espera que asista la alineación original de Guns N’ Roses, mientras que Red Hot Chili Peppers contará con John Frusciante en la guitarra para su actuación.
Atlas Eets Christmas es el nombre del más reciente proyecto de The Flaming Lips con motivo de las fiestas de cembrinas.
Wayne Coyne y compañía decidieron grabar varios temas navideños y ponerlos a disposición de todos aquellos que quieran entrar al sitio de Atlas Eets Christmas, relajarse y tomar un buen ponche navideño frente a la chimenea más cercana.
Uno de los temas del proyecto que más llamaron la atención, es el track en el que participan Yoko Ono y la Plastic Band.

Last night, Thom Yorke [Radiohead], Tim Goldsworthy [UNKLE] and 3D [Massive Attack]--some of the world's leading names in the current DJ world--spun for a party benefiting the Occupy London Movement in the basement of an abandoned UBS building, where a group of protesters have taken up an occupation. Not the best place if trying garner the world's attention for the cause, but perhaps a quite suitable location for an impromptu dance party. Nice foresight you ol' chaps!
The set was recorded and will rumored to be eventually posted to Occupation Records [a multimedia record label created out of the worldwide movement against corporate greed and corruption]. The label was organized by protesters outside of St. Paul's Cathedral and have already been backed by last night performers. More gigs are being planned for the near future, with plans to release the live performance recordings online for a pay-what-you-want fee as a benefit for the cause.
Adam Fitzmaurice, who helped to arrange the event, said: "Thom Yorke, 3D and Tim Goldsworthy wanted to do something to show their solidarity and thank Occupy London. Their intervention is an important cultural response to the economic injustice that is happening and will hopefully help ensure more people join the fight."

Although the rumors that Radiohead were supposed to play Occupy Wall St. were in the end unfounded, maybe now they will reconsider. You know, for the movement's sake...
