I just realized that I need to chill until you get back from your trip. Of course! Sometimes it takes me a while to look at these things through the proper lens, especially because I just Want. A lot. It can really block my vision and sensibility if I let it. I really do have some gifts and thoughts and ideas for you that I can't, but will, patiently, wait to give. I so want you to have a wonderful trip, with lots of fun and romance and pleasure--and nothing diverting on your mind or in your path--for both of you. The thought of this honestly gives me pleasure! You probably already know I'm a little odd this way.

I wrote a poem. Won't send it. It would be too wasteful, obviously.
I laughed or smiled all day at work yesterday, just thinking of you and your rude and irreverent truths. I am buying you a beer on Tuesday night because I want to listen to you think. I want to drink you in. I know you will not refuse. You have your rules, after all.

Since the 5th of August, 33 miners from Chile have been trapped underground. First, people feared that they had not survived, but the signs of life soon revealed themselves. Ever since that day, they have been working continuously with trying to drill a hole big enough to lever down a lift-thing, in order to take the miners up, one by one, on this thing.

Now, 26 miners have been rescued and they believe that all of the 33 miners will be saved tonight. Via live-tv, I just saw one of them get up from the dark underground to finally see the light above. It was... so emotional. A woman sat with her husband, a miner, and their daughter. The mother said to her child "Look, it's dad. Don't you recognise him?" - of course in Spanish. That was just... wow.

I really started thinking about how precious life really is. I mean, anything could happen. And maybe you wouldn't ever get to see your friends and family again. You just never know. And that's what makes it so scary.

Today I get up without hope. Soon it will be my 33 birthdays, but I've never had problems with it. What's happening? I don't know. Every day, I fight against the prejudices, I'm stopping believing in many things that already doesn't make sense , I'm trying to go out of the machine that has me. I don't see television, I don't read the newspapers, I don't believe that money as agent of happiness. I realy feel that I'm evolving, and it makes me happy, I feel free.

Anyway, today I'm fucking sad. There is something that I can't understand.

I'm currently listening to an interview with Radiohead on Spotify. Here's the link if you're interested.
Anyway, so there was this american woman who was an editor at a music magazine or something. She said "the band (Radiohead) obviously has fans, and those fans are very, very rabid." (The stupid statement is around 20-25 minutes in the interview.)

Sorry, when did she get to generalise crazily like that? So we're all rabid now, because we like/love (!) Radiohead? What's up with that? I mean, really?

Sometimes I wonder why some people have the right to speak their minds.

EX~PO Becomes P A P E R M A P S

My band, EX~PO, has renamed itself PAPERMAPS. We have just finished a new record (our second) and it will be coming out in February 2011 (physically in Canada but also on itunes). The band really started as just me, playing all the instruments but when I decided to start playing live I had to form a band around it. Now the 'band' has taken over in terms of collaboration, which was great. Thus the name change (really) because this is a collective effort now.
