WANTED. Only ALIVE! Thom looking like a bandit, photographed by Sebastian Edge in 2011. The occasion was the release of The King of Limbs. I had the pleasure to attend Edge's "Unseen" exhibition at the Metropolis Studios in London the other day. What a lovely and talented artist he is! The band contacted him when they heard he was not the usual photographer. Edge uses in fact the 19th century Wet Collodion technique to take his pics. It's quite a arduous process which consists in using sheets of treated glass instead of film. His gigantic and heavy camera, called Hurricane, is his own, hand-built creation which he had to carry the whole way into the woods near Oxford to photograph the band(its) ;-)
