Traveling in the last minute could be inconvenient: you have to pack up a great deal of clothes to get to that you want to go, however you need only a little time to make sure that you pack your clothes well and you don't miss anything or forget any necessities and toiletries.

You should get your tickets, have a ready schedule of all of the things that you might be supposed to do ? and book an inn without having to spend big money on using a last minute trip. A great deal of travel agencies and hotels know this tendency of folks to do things on the last minute, and so they promptly up their rates to be able to get more money beyond last minute travelers.

Strategies that you can avoid this, however, regardless if you are anticipating plenty of last minute travel, or you're already within the fray and looking for a accommodations in. there will be no dearth of discounts specifically if you are in a tourist friendly city, where a lot of hotels can not wait to acquire clients or customers regardless of what time of the year, no matter how long it took to get making the booking.

One method to avoid ever getting bad rates is always to actually speak to your travel agent beforehand and request for discount rates for hotels in case the day comes once you actually need those reductions for some last second travel. Your agent may have contacts at some hotels, possibly at some hotel chains that may extend their professional services abroad, so you can talk to your tour operator about what minute rates are good even before you need them.

An additional way to get good discount hotels for eleventh hour travel is usually to do last minute travel during non-peak months in a certain country or location. Of course this looks counter intuitive, but when you suddenly need to go on a vacation and would like to go immediately, and you are at a non-peak time, next the can be a wonderful means for you to spend less, and by simply going within a time when all hotels will have discounts anyway.

Still another way is to book your last minute hotel stay online. You will find many online reductions for hotel bookings in the first place, and last second bookings might have some special discounts attached to them providing you are not bumping facing a hotel that carries a lot of guests on its reservations list. It's also possible to access hotels online through kiosks inside your international or local airport, and if you're at the airport and awaiting your flight, or if you have downtime between packing sessions, it is possible to go online and quickly build your bookings.

Lastly, if you're already at a location and it's really the last minute, locate a hostel or pension house first. In this way, you can spend the night time or the first two nights in a decent location, keep yourself safe and sleeping soundly, then get to see the sights while searching for a hotel. That knows? You may actually like your cheaper lodgings, particularly when you're following your sights continuously and will spend more time outside in comparison to!

Mobile marketing is one of the newest types of marketing, yet it actually incorporates elements of some of the oldest and well proven methods. Many of the same rules that apply to other kinds of marketing will apply to mobile marketing too. However, there are some noteworthy differences. This article presents some solid advice on getting the best from this brilliant advertising medium.

Be clear about what you want to accomplish with mobile marketing. When starting off, figure out what your goals are and how you can apply them to mobile marketing. Decide if you are trying to retain customers, increase sales or promote new products and services when you are customizing your messages. This way your customers will get what they need and you will achieve your marketing goals.

By closely monitoring your competitors, you can become more informed about the business environment. You need to be discernible from the competition.

To recruit testers, ask friends and family. Have them test your site out for simplicity, the effectiveness of your ads and other parts of your campaign. You can pay an outside source to test your mobile marketing and give you an opinion of how they feel it will help or hinder your company.

Set up an online presence for your business with all possible social networks. If you don't get your name now, you may find that someone else claims it and your account will remain hard to find. Sign your business up for all the popular sites, and try to get the URL named after your company. At bare minimum, make creating a Facebook page a business priority. Foursquare and Twitter are also important social networking sites to consider.

As part of your mobile marketing plan, hold a picture-to-screen promotional event. When you do this, your customers will be able to use their mobile phones to add photos. They can send in their photos which can be set up to display right away on a website or digital screen. The photographs can then be displayed on multiple digital billboards or on television.

Make all of the marketing emails that you send mobile friendly. Doing so means your campaign is likely to be more successful in reaching your customers. Make your phone number is a click-able link, for instance. Make your pages as user friendly and as nice as your regular webpages for easy viewing on mobile devices. A lot of mobiles support emails, so remember this when you are sending out yours to your customers.

Take the extra time to make sure your mobile messaging program works correctly. It is very important that consumers see your content in the way you have intended. Ask people that you know if it would be okay for you to message them with the first batch of test messages to see if everything works properly.

Don't ever text message customers for no good reason. Respect your customers' attention by always giving them useful content when you send out messages. Random messages can annoy people and reflect poorly on your business. You will actually lose customers if your messages aren't advantageous to them. Readers can get random entertainment from their friends. They prefer to receive quality content from businesses.

Even though your goal with most marketing plans is to increase your customer base, you must remember that with mobile marketing you are working to maintain customers instead. They will be more open to your text messages and emails than new, potential customers. Too many texts or messages to new customers can backfire. You will find that more often than not, people will regard mobile marketing efforts to be spam.

If you want your mobile marketing to be really effective, apply search engine optimization techniques and technology to your mobile website. Google is a great place to start your mobile search engine optimization efforts. Most mobile devices use Google for their search engines.

Use mobile marketing to market your event a few hours before any major sale. It will remind all your customers that there is something major going on, and they should go have a look at it.

Before starting a new mobile marketing campaign, look at the success rate of the first one. In this case, you should measure your campaign's success by its longevity and not the number of sales it produces. Base the creation of your new campaign on the success formula of your old one.

If you are addressing a relatively technology-savvy audience, add QR codes on your printed material. Anyone who has a smart phone can use the QR code to access your site or coupons. Your brochures, business cards and catalogs should all have QR codes printed on them. When a customer has a genuine interest in your service or product, it is possible for him or her to get more information right away when a QR code is in place.

You can encourage customer participation and enhance your brand recognition with QR codes. For sharing coupons, promotions and/or discounts, nothing is better than QR codes. All they need to use your QR codes is a cell phone. You can contact your customers in a easy way and with good information.

These tips can help you see what mobile marketing is about and how it can help your business. There is quite a bit to learn, and many different ways that you can apply it. Once you know what you are doing, you can make the power of mobile marketing your own.

Sasha Ring’s work under his Apparat moniker has always been evolving; over three albums on the Shitkatapult label and the collaborative full lengths with Ellen
Allien and Modeselektor as Moderat on Bpitch Control, he’s surprised a lot of
listeners with his output. Confined to little or no definitive style his music
has always been in a constant state of metamorphosis, simultaneously breaching
new waters and staying true to his unique spirit of musical openness and his
obvious passion for sound design.

Aptly joking that his DJ KiCKs selection reflects his style to “not really have a style” it’s evident that Ring is more than aware that his contribution to the
series might look ‘intelligent’ on paper – with the tracklist aligning variant
artists like Oval, Autechre, Ripperton and Thom Yorke – but given his recent
tour at the start of the year, it’s simply a representation of where he’s at in
terms of modern music. “I didn’t want to
make this kind of ‘smart’ mix, that’s eclectic and sounds like it’s done ‘on purpose;’
but I need to do different things to keep myself motivated,” Ring explains. “At
first I wanted to make a collection of influences, all kinds of old songs but
then sometimes with those mixes it’s hard to keep some kind of flow and they’re
just not very easy to listen to, so I ended up using good new music; music that
almost gave me hope that there’s more out there than boring minimal
techno.” The Apparat contribution is as
stylized as the preceding mixes in the series from Kode 9 and James Holden; with
Ring embracing the opportunity to create a mix that represents both his
personality and his brave take on ‘club’ music. With an incredibly prevalent
talent for manipulation of both tempos and melodies, Ring includes tracks from
a handful of dubstep producers like Dutch producer Martyn – whose ‘Miniluv’
provides a glorious rhythmic propulsion when under-layed beneath Patrice
Baumel’s ‘Sub’ – and Ramadanman’s ‘Tempest’ – whose melody all but dissipates
at the optimum moment – layering and blending them perfectly with tracks from
across an array of genres from Autechre’s percussive white noise to Oval’s
erratically colourful sound slices or the echoed clicks of Phon.o’s
‘Intervall.’

“A mix needs a bit of dynamic,’ he states. “There were these weirder things I wanted to use, like this Four Tet remix (of Born Ruffian’s ‘I Need A Life’) and
then there are some tracks i had to use as tools to glue it all togehter. The
way I used the Martyn track is more of a tool to adjust the Patrice Baumel
track dynamically to the following ones. But most of the songs are in there for
musical reasons. All these artists have their own sound signatures and manage
to inject that space into every new song they produce.”

Achieving a sense of progression in the mix through both his selections and his awareness of sonic space, Ring manages to harness his enthusiasms for frequency perfect
soundscapes, often creating moments of sheer beauty out of his polarized
composite parts.

“The mix isn’t that balanced when it comes to melody I guess,” he continues, considering his point. “There’s a lot of sweetness on there, but it is dark and
mysterious at points. I guess the bittersweet-ness has long been kind of my
thing and with this mix I was just trying to spice it up a bit.”

ELECTRONICA WITH BBC CONCERT ORCHESTRA & JONNY GREENWOOD

Jarvis Cocker presenter
Will Gregory Moog Ensemble

We have now released a number of tickets for restricted-view seats at this sold-out concert. You can reserve your ticket by phone 0844 847 9910 (£2.50 transaction fee). Transaction fees apply per transaction, not per ticket.

Instrumental music by Goldfrapp's Will Gregory, Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood and others featuring theremins, Moogs and ondes Martenots - electronic instruments that were once symbols of music catching up with the Machine Age, yet still today appear somehow futuristic.

Director Alfred Hitchcock invited surrealist artist Salvador Dalí to create a dream sequence for his film Spellbound. Miklós Rózsa's soundtrack for this scene evokes the otherworldly with a theremin - an eternally mysterious instrument that conjures sound without being touched.

Hollywood got wind of this and soon Bernard Herrmann's score for the 1951 sci-fi epic The Day The Earth Stood Still was made rich with sonic lunar landscapes created by wibbly wobbly theremins and a Hammond organ rewiring the conventional orchestral palette.

French composer André Jolivet's Suite delphique is a sonic monolith with woodwind, percussion and ondes martenot at its core.

And, moving into the Space Age, Wendy Carlos' synths transform familiar Bach melodies into mechanistic sound sculptures, Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood infuses his rock albums with ondes Martenot glissandos and tremolos, bringing that tactile sound to his orchestral piece Smear, and Goldfrapp's Will Gregory reimagines the Moog synthesiser in his Journey into the Sky.

Tropicana's weekly Nightswim party is always a great time, but last night's was especially awesome when it turned philanthropic with The Voice Project. Oh, and the musical genius of Radiohead, Thom Yorke, took over the turntables. Nightswim has been the Thursday night spot
throughout the summer, with a special guest DJ here and pop up shop there over
the weeks. Last night's installment of the party was presented by The
Voice Project, a group that works for the peace movement in Uganda through art
and music. The L.A. Ladies ChoirNigel Godrich,Ana Calderon, and Bryan Ling spun special sets for the crowd. The party hit awhole new level when the one-and-only Thom Yorke got on the decks.Yes, we're talking about the lead singer/songwriter of the eminent, Radiohead. Although L.A. tried to keep its 'too cool forschool' attitude in check, you know everyone was totally pooping their pants --an appropriate response to the musical icon. Dancing to Thom Yorke's musicalselection? Enough said. The night was fantastic, and all for a good cause. performed live for the attendees, and DJs.

2009 --The Best In Music.

The music industry has continued to slowly adapt to this new digital-era of music which has presented itself to be a challenge both to the record labels as well as the artists themselves. Despite this, it's still has been a good year for music. Musicians everywhere have relied on the word-of-mouth bloggesphere to create enough buzz that will land them on some listener's iPod next time they decide to take a break from watching Mad Men or playing guitar hero. This is the times we live in. With bands such as The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart having plenty of buzz at the start of this year while other bands like XX ended the year with plenty of buzz of their own. Established artists saw the release of new albums while other bands took breaks from their own collective groups to create what is now becoming a new trend in these new so-called "super-groups". As far as the decade goes, the way I see it, it began with Kid A and ended with Merriweather Post Pavilion, two key albums that will forever be linked to the 00s. In looking forward to next year and into the next decade, one can only imagine what directions music will take and what steps the music industry will need to take in oder to continue to make profits from legitimate and talented artists and not have to rely so much on just another manufactured one-hit wonder "rock band".
