Thanks to my friend @Shahed Mosharrof. He managed to get the tickets for both of us.... I simply can't thank him enough. I tried to get them but my browser was not taking me to this page http://tickets.waste.uk.com/Store/DisplayItems.html. However, I am relieved that my friend got them.

I can't say in words how excited I am, that is why I was thinking that all of us who were lucky enough to get the tickets should meet up before the concert if possible . I also feel bad for those who couldn't score a ticket, trust me I know the pain. :(   But there is always a next time.... :)

See you all there......

not too happy

After staying up until 4:30am and waking up here and there to try and get tickets, I am now subjeted to no sleep, two small kids, and no tickets. I am very disappointed in the way the site worked out for me. We were even willing to pay up to 200 a ticket for good seats. I am so angry and upset that I waisted my time, the night before our anniversary , only to get nothing... If anyone has pit tickets tor sale, please let me know.

The average user's experience with w.a.s.t.e.

w.a.s.t.e.: It rubs the tickets on its skin. It does this whenever it is told.
radiohead fan: Mister... my family will pay cash. Whatever ransom you're askin' for, they pay it.
w.a.s.t.e.: It rubs the tickets on its skin or else it gets the hose again.
w.a.s.t.e.: Yes, it will, Precious, won't it? It will get the hose!
radiohead fan: Okay... okay... okay. Mister, if you let me go, I won't - I won't press charges I promise. See, my mom is a real important woman... I guess you already know that.
w.a.s.t.e.: Now it places the tickets in the basket.
radiohead fan: Please! Please I wanna go home! I wanna go home please!
w.a.s.t.e.: It places the tickets in the basket.
radiohead fan: I'm trying to, damnit!

Best of luck to everyone on Friday/Saturday!

Palace of Auburn Hills Tickets???

Was anybody successful in getting tickets for the June 11th show at Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan? If so did they go on sale at 10:30EST like some of the other dates? Haven't seen any posts regarding this show.

After reading people's posts, it's obvious they fall into two categories:  those who struck out completely, and those who got lucky but had to jump through a bunch more hurdles, error messages, crashes, glitches, and freak-outs. Considering this is 2012, and that both Radiohead and w.a.s.t.e have been around for a pretty long while, I think it's time you figured out how to sell tickets, because it really isn't all that hard. Just ask other bands with rabid fan followings, I'm sure they could help you out. Unless of course you're deriving enjoyment from watching people stay up all night for an unannounced release time, only to have your server spazz out when the time finally comes, in which case you're doing a fantastic job.

I think it would have been a better expierence for everyone if W.A.S.T.E. had made it known to users that there would be extremely heavy traffic and that just because you have to refresh for twenty minutes, does not mean you lost your tickets. I have read too many posts today from people who had got to the ticket select screen, grabbed the ones they wanted, then were stuck somewhere between email registration and checkout. A lot of these people gave up because they re-opened the ticket screen and saw sold out, not knowing their tickets were still being held in que for them. I'm sure a great number of people gave up and closed their browsers without knowing that they could have just waited and refreshed for awhile. I personally had to wait 45 minutes for the e-mail registration screen to come up and was lucky enough to still have my tickets. I hope everyone did ok today, but a lot of us walked away empty handed.

So dissapointed!

Not only have I been a fan for years, and missed Radiohead due to Thom leaving Australia and canceling his shows. I move to NY, one of the biggest citys in the world and I STILL cant manage to secure tickets after staying up ALL night waiting for them. I am so so dissapointed! All I want to do is see Radiohead in concert. Whats even funnier is after I recieved my visa to move here Radiohead announce a tour back to Austalia...

Diligence does pay.  So does breathing out the anxiety.

Woke up at 4:30am.  Checked every 15 minutes until 10:30am when they finally went up.

Figured if I'm up this early may as well do some morning yoga with one eye on the refresh button.

Finally at 10:30ish they went up.  I was first Greeted with a 'sold out'.  But I kept on. I knew that this was just a crash or a temporary error until the program adjusted to the traffic.  After about 10 or so 'sold out' messages, I finally got a 'select ticket amount' message.

I selected 2 tickets for Newark, NJ.  hit submit and waited... and waited... Crash.  Try again. Crash Try again.

"You have too many tickets in your basket."  Click Here to Continue.

"You have selected 3 tickets to this event."  Actually I wanted two, but no way in hell I was going to back it up. I'll buy 3. I've got a dozen loyal fan friends. Clicked submit.

Please enter email address.... And I waited at LEAST a minute.  Breathe it out.

Please enter password... After 3 attempts I got the message, incorrect password.  I had changed recently but the store must have had my old password on file.  I finally figured this out and submitted the right password. Submit.  ...By this point I am now chanting a prosperity mantra I learned over and over.  Ap Sahaee Hoa Suchae Da Sucha Doa. Har Har Har. (something to do with manifesting your desires from the infintie universe.)

After this the page probably crashed 2 more times.  Try Again. Try Again.  Sigh. Breathe. Chant.  (added a mudra for kicks.)

Enter Credit Card Information.  I did.  Credit Card declined.  (fraud protection for purchasing outside of the USA.)

Tried another card.  Submit.  Another Minute goes by.  Breathe. Chant. Mudra. Trust.

... and...

Confirmation Page.  Holy Hell. I printed the shit out of that page the second it came up.

So in the end, never trust a sold out page until at least 45 minutes after the onsale time.  Never close the browser or go back (if you want to do that as a back up plan use a duplicate screen.)  Stay on the line of your order and that one nanothread of electricity that is still hanging on may hold those tickets through the sea of anxiety and digital chaos.

Took me six hours from the moment I got up.  And 25 minutes from the moment they went on sale for my order to go through.

more suggestions

since the online sales are usually nerve-wracking and leave a lot of people out in the cold, and since the paperless thing only makes it worse b/c you can't have friends try to help you get tickets, here are two suggestions which have worked for years for other super-popular bands:

1. mail-order tickets

2. a ticket lottery in which all requests entered within a given period are weighed equally

"While you make pretty speeches, I'm being cut to shreds...you feed me to the lions, a delicate balance."

Seriously?????!!!!!

I had my tickets selected, entered all my info and payment info, and click purchase tickets...and it tells me my credit card was refused because of some bullshit about something about the cookies on my computer. I buy tickets for shit all the time and have never had that pop up. Seriously fucked up.

WTF, this is WAY worse than my previous failed experiences with waste presales!  Why waste our time with this bullshit, if the vast majority of us aren't even going to be able to get on to the page when the time comes? This was an ABSOLUTE w.a.s.t.e of time for me, time I really couldn't afford today.

I doubt I will ever bother with w.a.s.t.e again, but here are some simple suggestions:

1. get a bigger server

2. don't release a bunch of shows on the same day!

3. if you know people will be up for hours, don't wait until 10:30 to release the tickets

By the time we got through the clusterfuck of page loading, everything was gone, and I suspect almost everyone else had a similar experience. So it's on to Ticketmaster, which will be about the same. And then I guess it's on to the secondary market, which is quickly becoming the only way to see this band, "paperless" tickets or not.

Thanks for botching it royally once again!
