against my will.

I'm in bed already. It's not even 10PM and I'm in bed. It feels so strange, but I have to get used to this now after a lovely ten week summer break. Actually I'm not ready at all to return to the classroom, to bury my head in a big pile of books (mostly math, otherwise we do our projects on the computer) and get up far too early in the morning. I'm biting my nails, my heart is pounding faster, and this is all because I'm so nervous.

Why am I nervous? It's not like it's my first year. It's my second at college, and we're now the second oldest ones in school. I've been there before, I know (most of) the teachers, where the classrooms are and I'm a regular at every restaurant available in the centrum close to school. It should be fine... right?

Just let me get out of this...

An Ocean of Rainbows (a haibun)

Alone in a sea of the most colorful people. Rainbow dotted horizons andsparkling reflections of joy. Amazing view of happiness, of what itshould be, of what it could be. Standing atop a rock in thisocean. Searching for the unknown. Waiting and uncertain.

Passingby in waves
Ebbing and flowing in time
The tide will soon turn

Green-eyedmonster tickles toes. So many cries of glory and elation. The cluelesslinger atop a rock. Unseen or unnoticed, unloved or unwanted, or justunintentional and unrealized. Isolated by fear of falling. Afraid ofthe unknown. Afraid of breaking. Afraid of the ocean and awash inmelancholy to see it pass.

Toe dipped in slowly
Takenout to deep water
Left to drown alone

Confined tothat space. Safe from all who are unable to scale those smoothwalls. Unwilling to drop a line without a safety net. A smile witheach thought of "what if", seems like happiness from afar. Seems likecontentment, Seems like a mirage.

My mind is set

on making it out of here. It's amazing to me I've already wasted so much time, but I'm not going to dwell on it. It's time to start doing something. I don't want to go at it alone, but I will if I have to. It's been too long and comfortable to be acceptable anymore. I just have to focus.

Aconteceu hoje (16) a coletiva do Rock in Rio 2011.

A previsão é de 108 bandas no line-up do evento. O festival deve divulgar mais informações em breve.

1st tribute

So, Indonesian Radiohead Fans (IRF) presented the first tribute to radiohead. It took place in FX Music, Jakarta on February 2010. Here's our brochure which we spread widely through the internet :

The show starts at 4 pm and finish at almost 12 in the evening. There were around 20 bands participate in the show. Each band have 30 minutes to perform which give them chance to cover around 4 radiohead songs. And almost 500 people came to the show.

We are so glad that the show run well. The audience and performers are enthusiastic and look very satisfy.

This tribute brought us so much fun at IRF. We've got many new members after that. And that makes us even more passionate to become a good place for radiohead fans in Indonesia to share information, thought or everything about Radiohead and IRF.

terrible.

One thing that's always been bugging me is how terrible people in my country (Sweden) are at speaking English. I mean, it's our second language and has been for quite some time now, shouldn't people have sharpened their English by then? I see politicians, even the Prime Minister, speaking awful English on TV. I see other famous people; actors, singers and so on, and they are... wow, I don't even know what to say.

Even though we're being taught English in school since 2nd grade, it's not the best English. Still after nine years I wouldn't say I'm anywhere near being flutent in this language. I guess I'll have to blame my teachers for being too lazy to teach us proper English. Mostly I try to teach myself with books and watching TV programmes. No wonder people are bad at it, they don't get taught properly.

It's like being taught to fish without a fishing rod. People are being taught English, but not good enough to last one day in... let's say London. It's sad, really.

Indonesian radiohead fans

Indonesian radiohead fans was formed on March 2009. I created the group in facebook. At that time, there were also some indonesian radiohead fans base in facebook..But none of them were active. That's why I choose to create the new one.

the first 6 months we are not growing rapidly on numbers, but what I always try to make sure is that the group is an active source of radiohead. So that radiohead fans in indonesia can get updates from radiohead and also share their thought on songs, albums, etc...

Late 2009, we start to discuss the possibility of meeting in the real world. And after long discussion, we gather for the first time on January 10, 2010. Around 20 members were coming at that time. And it turn out to be a happy gathering and we come up with the idea of making a tribute to radiohead show in Jakarta. The ideas brought us to the second gathering and the group become lively ever since.

here are some pics from first and second gathering:

the location of the first and second gathering was in TAMAN MENTENG, which now become the historical place for IRF :D

that's all for now...have a nice weekend, everyone...

might need holidays...

Until where should my work ethics go ? I woke up in a panic at 5AM because I had forgotten to change some settings for some obscure calculation. Obviously, I couldn't go back to sleep after that. That's when I realised that I was gonna juggle with trouble all day : no one to blame but my own inattention, and I was going to have to answer to it. How can you get up and go to work when you know that ? Well, you've got to be the masochistic kind, like I am.
Anyway, just when I was checking up how badly the calculation had fucked up.... I realised it hadn't ! I had forgotten about precaution 1, but precaution 2 which didn't seem much at the time covered up and saved my ass ! I worried over nothing and my subconscious crashed a perfect night of rest.

Axiom 453 of the year : don't worry so much when you fuck up, you might get lucky.

Getting to work in 2010: Our new plans...

After a month-long retreat in the mountainous US state of Vermont, and following much reflection, listening and movement-storming with allies & organizers from around the world, we're excited to share our new plans for 2010 -- and can't wait to learn what you think! Bill's letter below is about to go out to our entire list -- make sure you're signed up for more exciting updates in 2010!

Dear Friends,

Well, no one said it was going to be easy.

Last year, thanks to many of you, we built up enormous momentum for climate solutions. The global day of rallies you pulled off on October 24th turned out to "the most widespread day of political action in the planet's history," according to CNN, with 5200 actions in 181 countries.

And in Copenhagen that translated into 117 countries--most of the world's nations--supporting a tough 350 target.

But it didn't translate into political victory. The biggest polluters wouldn't go along. So we still have work to do.

In fact, our slogan for 2010 is "Get To Work." Get to work to start changing our communities, and get to work to make our leaders realize that they actually need to lead. We've sifted through thousands of your emails from all over the world, and come up with an action plan for this year that we think may break the logjam and get us moving. But only, of course, if we act together to make it happen.

The first date to mark on your calendar: October 10. Working with our friends at the 10:10 campaign, we're going to make the tenth day of the tenth month of the millennium's tenth year a real starting point for concrete action. We're calling it the 10/10 Global Work Party, and in every corner of the world we hope communities will put up solar panels, insulate homes, erect windmills, plant trees, paint bikepaths, launch or harvest local gardens. We'll make sure the world sees this huge day of effort--and we'll use it to send a simple message to our leaders: "We're working--what about you? If we can cover the roof of the school with solar panels, surely you can pass the legislation or sign the treaty that will spread our work everywhere, and confront the climate crisis in time." 10/10/10 will take a snapshot of a clean energy future -- the world of 350 ppm -- and show people why it's worth fighting for. It's not too early to sign up here: www.350.org/oct10

Every nation is not created equal in this climate crisis, of course. If we can't get the biggest polluters and the biggest economies to change, then we'll never win. So we're going to focus some particular attention on China, the United States, and India with a Great Power Race--college and university campuses will compete to see who can come up with the most, and the most creative, climate solutions. We hope friendly competition will help governments see that they have a lot to gain by diving into clean energy--and a lot to lose by missing this opportunity.

And we'll keep figuring out ways to apply political pressure where it counts--in the U.S. Senate, say, where we're joining a group of our best allies in backing the proposed Cap-and-Dividend approach that would stop letting big polluters pour carbon into the sky for free. In other parts of the world, we'll hold more of the climate leadership workshops that produced so many great leaders last year.

And as the next UN conference approaches in Mexico in December, we'll stage the largest piece of public art in the planet's history--a reminder that we have to bring passion to bear along with science and economics if we're going to move this process.

We know, from the calls and emails we've been getting, that people all over the world are ready to go to work. We think this plan can increase the odds of real action. We know that we have no choice. When, years down the road, the next generation asks what we did to save the planet, we want to be able to say: "We rolled up our sleeves and got to work." There's no guarantee we can beat the rich and powerful interests that we're up against--but thanks to you we've got enough momentum to have a real chance. Let's use it now.

Onwards,

Bill McKibben and the 350.org Team

P.S. We've learned that there's great power in pictures, and so we decided to make an audio slideshow that walks through our plan for 2010 and how we got here. Please watch it here, and share the piece with family & friends by spreading this link: www.350.org/audio-slideshow. Also, please forward this message far and wide--2010 needs to be a year of unprecedented growth for this movement.

P.P.S. We want to know what your reaction is to the plan for 2010--will you share your ideas and thoughts with the Global 350 Facebook Community by leaving a comment in the latest message? (www.facebook.com/350.org)

Thom Yorke apresenta nova faixa do Radiohead em festival

'

Além da canção, a lista de músicas do show incluiu clássicos do Radiohead como "Planet telex", "Everything in it's right place", "Reckoner" e "Airbag".

"that's fine".

If you think you need some money, well honey - that's just funny, 'cause I got none.
If you just want some conversation, go somewhere in the nation - not in my house.
But if you think you need some lovin', that's fine.

'Cause if you think you need some money, well - you can't have mine.
And if you want some conversation, try a pick up line.
But if you think you need some lovin', that's fine.

cynicism.

Today is my cousin's 18th birthday. We went over to congratulate him, celebrate his birthday, have a nice lunch and hang out with a lot of relatives. I met my other cousin whom I haven't seen in nine or ten years. From the moment I saw her and we said hello, I immediately knew she didn't like the presence of us, and when we left, she said, with a stiff face; "Nice to meet you again after all of these years". Though you don't need to be a psychologist to know she didn't mean it.

Most people I meet, "new" people, seem to be uncomfortable with me around them. I know how they all work. They're just a bunch of shallow, heartless people that don't care about anyone but themselves. "No wonder you don't have that many friends", they say. Because of what I believe. But I honestly couldn't care less about what people think of me. There are some people out there, just some, that aren't like the others. That aren't shallow or heartless.

Maybe I am too. Heartless, that is. I know that I'm not shallow (people have told me so about my past two or three boyfriends) but maybe I could be heartless sometimes. I admit to the fact that I don't care about some people I used to call friends in the past. What should I care about them for, if they do not care about me anymore?
