Ringing in my Ears

when his hear t b

 led

 it turned the sky red.

the sun died the sun died the sun died

all three, both maries and martha cried.

his heart bled

and beat through the sky.

head-lights full of fog;

like being in a smoke room for too long...

end of the night,

when will mourning come?

the sun rises.

Let's

Let's change this world-mess.

As things get put off, Earth becomes more and more in need of help.

I see devastation in tar sands mining, mountaintop removal, all manner of disrespect... but couldn't mountains be moved to set them right again?

i won't take myself too serious!

usually when i start writing something (more or less philosophical; but this time is less), i tend to become nihilistic, renegading my own specie or putting down an entire list of fucked up facts that i don't agree with. i don't want to do this tonight, boys , girls and undecided creatures from out of space! i would like to pretend that for some moments i actually live in my very own version of Lala-land, which is not necessary full of pink ponies with butterfly wings jumping around jelly and muffin castles. i try to keep it obscure and real, so i don't find myself one sunny day tied up in a mind relaxation establishment.

once i found myself in a dark depression, thinking that my life is rubbish, emotionless and the things that i love doing never got to be done. i thought that shit was more splendid that  i was, that my persona was as blank and powerless than untouched snow and i was colder (as a human being in relation with other brothers/sisters of specie) then snow. than my friends don't deserve being around such an ungrateful asshole as I, the writer. but the reason that i was such a dumpster of all crap human sentiments was because i was allowing myself to make a really big deal of the nothingness that was happening to me (which was the simple fact that i was alone and refuse to talk to anybody) and thought that the feeling of not feeling anything is never going to end. then i made a very stupid list, which was also a very pretty list of the very pretty things that i love about my life and about being a part of this planet, century, etc., etc. first were only the general things, like music, arts, places on the globe, ice cream, blah blah blah, but afterwards the list got personal, i started to feel stronger and i wasn't a stranger to myself anymore. (i'm not going to say what those things were, everybody has their own list.) i always thought lists are lame, especially when they are done to help you make a life or death decision. but in my case the lamest thing on Earth helped a lot. sometimes is good to want to have something tangible, so you won't be left only with "hm.. i wonder what's gonna happen next?".

we shouldn't take to much time of our days to think about the awfulness of this society. but ignorance is not an option ,either. we shouldn't become obsessive with the cruel history and preach everyday about it (people will find us boring and stay away from us). but we shouldn't pretend it didn't happen and continue the mistakes. we shouldn't accuse others for their faults and the consequences of them, forgetting about how it is to be human. but we can show others how the mending of things starts with recognizing our own mistakes. we shouldn't abandon our powers and live in adoration of gods that we can never reach and could never care less about our existence. those people we see on tv or about whom we read full of thirst are less powerful and less genuine then us and somewhere somehow are other things that we should start knowing about, because they're more interesting.

my fantasy of Lala-land is somewhere were laws are not against anybody, were everyone is living by the laws of the red cross, sharing possessions, cause they're all perishable and they don't worth dying for...something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b7qaSxuZUg. i know, a bit cheesy. but that's my Lala-land. if you don't like it, you can imagine your own...

it's an insane world we live in, let us not forget. but it's the only one we have (if we are not really big fans of fringe), so let us not make it worse then it already is. i try to go by the rules that i wrote in the 3rd paragraph, not only because it's a good way to be in society, but it's the best way to keep your minds all together. i try as well to sing less under the shower because i have a disturbing scary voice. so i let myself listening to good music. or i love watching films, but i figured that if more then 5 years pass i don't remember anything from the motion picture, but i remember the soundtrack. so i prefer books. to write sometimes, so that i won't forget what's happening in the story.

oh! yes! and weed is legal in my world...

love and affection, theBlub34.

PS: it's the best when you remember. it's the best when you forget.

PPS: i think i'll have a break of posting, but i'm sure my big fans won't start crying...

Fog

There's a little child

Running round this house

And he never leaves

He will never leave

And the fog comes up from the sewers

And glows in the dark

Baby alligators in the sewers grow up fast

Grow up fast

Anything you want it can be done

How did you go bad?

Did you go bad?

Did you go bad?

Somethings will never wash away

Did you go bad?

Did you go bad?

I love this song!

To O.

Close your eyes and see me.

Lay on those leaves and let them take you down the river of my soul.

You’ll soon find yourself in the middle of an infinite ocean but don’t be afraid of drowning - it’s impossible. That’s just because all the water under this pink sky is my love to you. And you’re not from this kind of people that I am so you’ll be floating in there, in my mind forever, so close and so distant…

Of Montreal Share Their Winter Blues [MUSIC]

11010905255?profile=original

Those wacky Georgians, Of Montreal are back with a brand new odd-ball track called 'Wintered Debts'. Sounding an awful lot more like Modest Mouse on their weirdest day, it features a plethora of off-kiltered singing, unique instruments, and lot of avant-garde piano playing... Hence the Yo Gabba Gabba picture.

Still, its easy enough to get into if you're feeling particularly indie these days. And just when you think it's over, the song even keeps going for another minute or so.

If you're craving more abstract audio selections from the faux-Canadians, they will be releasing a new full length album early next year titled, 'Paralytic Stalks.'

Stream the track HERE [or download below]. Your choice!

ticket sales

Anyone know whether it's possible to get someone from the area that RH will be performing in, eg. Italy, to buy you a ticket on your behalf and give it to you when you get there?   Will there be complications because of byer identity?

Miami GA ticket wanted for an Oxford native

I was able to get my floor ticket to Miami. The wife has not liked the last 2 albums so only got 1 ticket but now my brother wants to fly down from North Carolina. We are from Oxford and have been in the US for 20 years and cringe everytime my 2 other brothers tell us about watching Radiohead play Oxford's South Park for free  in 2001.

if anyone has an extra Miami ticket or if plans have changed, i'd be interested.

If there were 2 tickets one of my other brothers might be interested in flying over from Oxford to see the show too, so 2 ticket options would be considered too.

cheers

Gorillaz Get Some New Kicks [NEWS]

11010913889?profile=original

Time to procure some fresh-to-death foot apparel y'all. Gorillaz  just announced that they'll be recording a new track in February next year as part of the Converse shoes' 'Three Artists. One Song' series. But that's not all folks! They also got their own custom sneaks'!

The music themed series has been responible for bringing together big names that would normally never be in the same room expect maybe at the Grammys. Converse's efforts have spliced artists including Soulja Boy, Andrew W.K. and Matt & Kim for a collabortaive track. They also got their hands on Graham Coxon [Blur], Bill Ryder-Jones [The Coral]  and Paloma Faith in 2010.

Still unnamed, the track will come out to coincide with the release of a new collection of Converse shoes, which have been frankensteined by the Gorillaz and feature a heel tab by the band's design guru Jamie Hewlett.

The Dodos Drop A Fresh One [MUSIC]

11010912888?profile=original

Meric Long and Logan Kroeber, the duo known as, The Dodos will have Neko Case by their side for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon a week from today [11/29] so mark your calendars. In the meantime, to promote such a joyous televised event, a previously unreleased track, 'So Cold', is being offered up just for parting with your email addy on their website, where you can also win tickets to a performance in your town.

Clean and bright, 'So Cold' carries the upbeat guitar/drum-heavy polyrhythm that is on par with the sound one can hear on their 2011 release No Color. Due to the fact the internet can be a dangerous place, I have allowed you to bypass the email swap for a a more direct approach below. Enjoy!

Beck loves to play around with other people's music. Especially when he's on leave from creating his own. His side-project, dubbed Record Club [rhyme not intended], affords him the opportunity to invite talented friends over to cover a classic album in its entirety, in a day, with no rehearsal. He recently finished posting clips from the Velvet Underground & Nico session, featuring Nigel Godrich and Giovanni Ribisi [the actor?! What the #%&@?!].

Now it’s on to Songs Of Leonard Cohen, which stars the crew from MGMT, Andrew Stockdale from Wolfmother, Binki from Little Joy, multi-talented musician/composer Brian Lebarton and Beck's bassist Bram Inscore [both returning from the first Record Club].

One the nicest off the album “Suzanne,” came out the other end sounding like a 'groovy, cello-heavy version' — because that’s just how it happened. Beck says: “There is no intention to ‘add to’ the original work or attempt to recreate the power of the original recording. Only to play music and document what happens.”

So very musically scientific of you!

The tracks have been dropping weekly, and I've been patiently compiling them for your listening pleasure. Check out Beck.com for newness, videos, interviews and to see what else is in the works.

Have you ever wondered what your favorite bands sounded like way back when? Ya know, before they got good famous and honed in on that famous sound you hear today? Of course you have. Mick Jagger had to start somewhere. And Lennon didn't always have those cool hipster glasses.

But what of Radiohead [pre-Greenwood days]? Quite literally just released are two very [very] old Radiohead songs that date back 25 years. The tracks which are titled, "Everybody Knows" and "Girl (In The Purple Dress)", supposedly date back to 1986! So not only was I just being born, but I had a sick soundtrack to back me up!

According to the Youtube user [Klootme] who uploaded these rare gems, the story goes something like this:

"The demo was given to my husband at 17 in school. We used to go and see them play in Oxford and was friends with them. They were fairly inactive from 1987 -1990 as a band. But when everyone had finished Uni they got back together and tried to make a go of it. They went to the States…we went backpacking to India for 6 months. Six months later we retured from India…saw Colin with a binbag full of laundry at the lauderette…..”so much for the States” we laughed…….” I remember seeing them in Oxford where me and my husband made up an audience of 6!”

11010912086?profile=original

The demo tape entitled, "On A Friday" includes some old buried jams and a few remixes, which sound like some weird-ass dub versions with shotty vocals that refuse to commit. Guess Thom & Co. were still working out the kinks on their Casio. Still, a nice lesson in rock history. And just be forewarned, the songs also sound VERY 80's with horns, slow swooning ethereal beats and pianos.

Tracklist:

Fragile Friend
Girl (In The Purple Dress)
Everybody Knows
Mountains (On The Move)
Fat Girl
Lemming Trail
Lock The Door
Fragile Friend (Remix)
Lemming Trail (Remix)
Lock The Door (version)
