New to me anyway. They're called Home Video. :P I'm excited since I rarely, rarely ever discover a new band that I like. Unfortunately most music nowadays has changed far from my taste. I hear the occasional new song I like, but rarely a band. The only time I usually like something new on the radio is if its from one of my old bands I already know.Anyways, (so far at least) I think I'm really going to like them. A few influences:The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, Depeche Mode, Björk, Massive Attack, Brian Eno, Radiohead, The Cocteau Twins, Boards of Canada, My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails, PortisheadAnd by the way - I'm really excited that the Verve is back now. As I am a girl, I am supposed to cook. And as an Australian said once on the phone, I am French, so I am supposed to cook.The thing is, cooking is useless when it is only for yourself. However, you can go into your own little world and not have to explain why you chose that particular recipe, and why you find it worth of interest.Well, of course, when you're choosing this, it is to be expected that people might not understand. Pfff.However, I'm sure the result will be disgusting, but hey, I never said I was a good cook - I just like video games. Should I be playing Cooking Mama, doc ? Anyone interested ? Recipe here ! Dunno if it's good, but it's funny ^^Oh, and by the way, great gig last night in Arras. For once, the Grand Place didn't look depressing (try it on a winter rainy day, it's lovely. Or not). Met a lot of great people. I'm terrible with names, but it' not that important, is it ? I remember sharing a nice "pain et saucisson à l'ail" and sudoku games, lengthy conversations, and got another sunburn - Just like in Paris. I think I can claim the title of "reddest calf of all Arras". Ouch. Should have seen it coming, I mean, when you enjoy baking 1-UP Mario mushrooms, you can't have a social life, get out of your room and prepare your skin for the sun, can you ? But this slight 'war injury' was worth it...I guess.

The bangers and mash live session video appeared sometime "last night" and I saw it this morning. Bangers and mash was a real favorite of mine and many others from the moment it appeared.... partly due to the name which refers to a hot meal. It's kind of a jazz-music name.... like referring the feel of the song as its title. The recording of bangers n mash published on the In Rainbows disc and record set had a lot of mutations from the original whilst keeping most of the lyrics written for the initial live performances of bangers n mash. The original live versions had overdriven guitars which sounded like the studio and most live Bodysnatchers do today, or how the song "Feeling pulled apart" sounded in a live performance from 2001.Surely can't be beat.But this new one has more detail and more breathing room. It reminds me of Sonic Youth 's "dirty" from 1992. Moreso this live version than the studio one (which has more synth sounds than "dirty"). and thom doing the vocal "moans" during the slow part. A song called "Swimsuit issue" from "dirty" has this kind of feel. The second verse has a completely new guitar part, i just realized. the range of the bangers and mash riff for jonny seems to have been extended fivefold, but i feel that the new ideas are quite fitting; if you're playing one of five parts in a band and you come up with something that seems even better than before then go for it . : ) the cymbals work by phil s. is exemplary --- he makes it sound like there are three drummers instead of two : )

Apparently tomorrow (monday) radiohead will air a video recording of "Bangers and mash" via the pitch fork website. All these competitions come at the wrong time. I'd have loved to have animated a music video for Radiohead, and remixed Nude, but I just don't have the time to give it right now - a year or two ago would have been perfect! Damn LP7 delays... anyway I thought I'd share my old videos and some rh related musicy things:Climbing Up The Walls No Surprises Random video done with Arkaos and their default clips, done to an instrumental cover I did of Cymbal RushHad a go at videotape too before IR version...and most recently I did a random mashup of beastie boys and reckoner, that I think works really well actually :) :Just need a break and I want to turn this hobby into something a bit more real. Just gotta remember not to lose it at the back of my head and one day I'll be in a position where I can advance with this sort of stuff.Matt
