Hi W.A.S.T.E. Central Community,

Truthfully I'm not sure of the best way to go post about this here - but my name is Jamie Rogers, I am a diehard Radiohead fan - and this year I am planning on making a documentary about the diehard Radiohead fan community, and I would like to invite you to be a part of it.

When I was 15, my uncle bought us tickets to see Radiohead at a music festival. I was only a casual fan at that point. Afterwards, I became immediately enthralled, infatuated, and listened to only them exclusively for two months (nothing else). I saw them twice on the King of Limbs tour, because that's all I could afford - but at one date in Dallas, I overheard a fan say she had seen them 23 times. I immediately decided, in that moment, that this is what I wanted to do. As soon as LP9 was announced, I started saving money for this dream. This year, I'm going to see Radiohead 8 times - and possibly 10 if they add Austin City Limits to their roster.

I'm reaching out to Radiohead communities, because I am also a documentary filmmaker, and I am working on making a film about my following them on tour - but also all the incredible, diehard Radiohead fans out there, who I'd love to meet along the way. I want to hear your stories. Why do you love this band? Why have so many of us decided to sacrifice time and money to passionately embark on ambitious travel, and face endurance tests (i.e. waiting in line all day) all for the love of Radiohead?

I aim to create a comprehensive and complex portrait of the Radiohead fandom that exists across the world, that transcends culture, language, age - because the thing about this band is that they also transcend every state of emotional being - and I feel like we all share such a deep connection with them because we all have those songs we still turn to, or come to appreciate, at different points in our lives.

Please contact me at radiohead.film@gmail.com to tell me your story. In your email, please let me know if you are seeing them on tour this year, if you've seen them in the past, and where you're located. I live in Los Angeles, but I'm traveling to New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Mexico City - and most likely Montreal and Austin, on my tour. I aim to film different, compelling people and stories in each city. I look forward to hopefully hearing from some of you! Thank you for your reading.

Hi,

i am in the search of some weird fishes to go to Primavera festival. I got my ticket for the whole festival but any of my mates had the chance to get one :(

but then i thought what a great opportunity to meet some other weird fishes like me and share this moment.

Now, you are probably asking yourself who am i?

My name is Maria Millan and i am a Londoner. I am a photographer and filmmaker. I am originally from Venezuela and moved to London 5 years ago. People say i am funny, easy going, chill and over all i have a good vive and a solution minded person.

I am a music & film lover. I love traveling, languages, coffee, cake, tea, DIY, Aliens, the smell of wet grass, the sunrise, the sunset, the moon... and yeah, of course, i am a night owl.

Beside Radiohead, i love David Bowie, Talking Heads, Joy Division, LCD SoundSystem, Tame Impala, Caribou, Floating Points, The Doors, The Strokes, etc etc etc.

I am the perfect girl to go on a festival with, plus i speak spanish. I have a friend in BCN where i'll stay but he has to work so hopefully i find some great Radiohead's lovers.

secondary sales

When it comes to ticket sales, it's just fair to take such measures. Secondary sales are nothing less of stealing. It would even make sense to only sell one ticket per person or to bind each ticket to a specific name and ID.

The only thing that's really unfortunate is the online sale system. The WASTE ticket shop seemed to have massive issues. Even though I was getting a good place in the queue, something seemed to have failed. Whether it was an old version of Java that my browser was running or a server error, it was simply vexing to watch time run out and my reservation expiring along with it. The info page said not to reload the site too often OR only in case something went wrong, otherwise you'd get kicked out. So the simple fact of sitting there and seeing that apparently with everything starting out fine, some tiny issue getting in the way of your purchase is incredibly frustrating.

I'd prefer to stand in line for half a day in front of some ticket shop rather than sit at my computer, watching what at first seems like a "working reservation" only to let the tickets slip through my fingers for whatever reason (i don't care at that point).

Right after this I got a ticket for the Lollapalooza in Berlin, but would have prefered to see a solo show instead. I guess with all these problems concerning sales, we seem to be in a time of change and experimentation. At least the live experience can't really be topped by anything and will stick with you for as long as you can remember.

I don't usually post much but I think this needs to be said and I hope maybe we can all come together as a people to try and stop this from happening. On March 18th many fans were awaken from their sleep by the "MORNING BELL". As most Radioheads fans know, tickets just went on sale and many people if not most were unable to get tickets from the get go. Cheers to those who were "LUCKY". Many people went to authorized dealers or waited in line or  also waited online until tickets went on sale. Unfortuanately, most people where left "HIGH AND DRY" and without tickets due to system errors. Within minutes of tickets going on sale they were sold out and tickets were already on the secondary market for up to 10 times the normal price. Radiohead even went to great lengths to try and stop this from happening due to previous years' problems by limiting 2 tickets per purchase. That is fine for me since "ALL I NEED" is 2 tickets. How is it possible if you have multiple people in different countries and states trying to buy tickets within seconds of going on sale and all getting errors. You sit there watching the little hourglass going round and round like "SPINNING PLATES". To great dismay this happened again and again and again every year. In Beijing a half a mile line or so of  people were left without tickets. How is this possible???"HOW DO YOU" stop it??? In NYC, thousands left without tickets. How is it possible for tickets to sell out in a matter of a few mintues/seconds when multiple days are announced and are being offered with a limit of 2 tickets per purchase? Hackers? Conspiracy??? Maybe these hackers are getting deep into the "CODEX" of the computer systems. Who knows?? Something is up and it has been going on for decades now with no end in site. 2+2 is for sure equaling 5 here. Maybe I am just a "PARANOID ANDROID". What I do know is we have to come together as a people across the world to try and stop this. I have no clue what we can do but maybe others who feel the same who are a lot smarter than me are able to come up with something. I and many others find this extremely disappointing and heartbreaking because we as fans, have been waiting 4-5 years for this day, and to have it stolen from us time and time again is quite a "LET DOWN". Here in America, I understand we built this country on beating others and stepping on the person next to us to get a little higher, but music was suppose to bring people together. Living in this captialistic society, I would think has gotten me use to this, since it is "THE NATIONAL ANTHEM" of the USA, but it hasn't. It all comes down to the "DOLLARS AND CENTS". But this is not an American problem but a world problem. When will it stop and who can help? Batman? Superman? Brainiac?  I don't know if you missed that reference but the point is we need to stop this across the world so we can all enjoy a piece of great art. I hope this reaches many and wish for this to end so we can all enjoy great music from Radiohead and other great muscial artists that we all adore.  I will be "OPTIMISTIC" in this being fixed one day soon. What a "NICE DREAM" that would be for all of us to watch  Jonny Greenwood hit the "RIPCORD" live. If only we can all come together as a society to stop this injustice. It should be easy to take down as a team because when you really think about... It is all just a "HOUSE OF CARDS".  Thank you.

As someone said in his/her status recently (sorry, so many posts lately, can't remember who it was), never post about WASTE presales on a forum or Facebook as that's how ticket touts get to know about it. Well, a Radiohead French site (which I'm not a member of) just did everything possible to break the news for all  presales both on their site and FB page (and probably Twitter and other social media too, I don't know I'm not on social media). Here's a screencap for yesterday's Lyon presale :

Just this, really

It's very simplistic and I'll probably edit this and re post in a more elegant form

Just thoughts about unnecessary cuts and the impact on people in the uk, and how this marginalizes the people affected, as well as denying talented folk with not much money the chance to be a positive influence to the climate debate.

Knowing what it's like to choose between eating and paying bills in my past, and finding it impossible to engage as closely with things like Twyford Down, when this was happening, I wonder how much the obsession with austerity has isolated people either in the benefits cycle or on low incomes from the climate change debate, so they are left having to focus on daily survival rather than being able to perhaps feel even remotely included in what used to be a discussion?

The cuts appear to have divided and conquered to the extent the tories are able to engage in Paris with lots of positive messages one minute, and less than a week later, cut subsidies to renewable energy, with barely a murmur, and I wonder if this is partly to do with intense public media manipulation, but also silencing several million voices?

It's not just people who were already on the margins being impacted, I wonder if I'm alone in finding this worrying amongst other responses?

Apologies if this is a tedious repeat of other blogs or inappropriate.....

I see that there are two separate dates - one for WASTE and one for the General Public.  Can someone please advise which website we will have to go on to buy tickets and also what time they will be available from and which time zone ???  Thank you

Pyrrhus

Ticketmaster/Ticketservice is selling tickets, as I read, also through their own resale companies. Making big bucks. Winning this endless war over how to make as much money as possible, over the backs of the many Radiohead fans.

They won this 'war', but at the cost of many victims.

I asked ticketmaster (Netherlands) to make it possible for people who really wanted to go to Radiohead, bought a ticket, but they can't go anymore due to circumstances beyond their will, to resell their ticket. No profit, trustworthy. This must be made possible. You cannot victimize hard working music lovers because reselling rats make victims with high prices and non deliveries. I know someone who cannot go anymore. I really want to go, but cannot buy his ticket. He looses a lot of money and gets nothing in return. I am frustrated, angry and emotional. We all are victims. Everybody lost.

Can't we urge the music industry to ban ticketservice, to make it a Pyrrhus win?

Ticketmaster replies(lol) to my complaint

Read and judge yourselves (love how the band changed to Pearl Jam half-way through reply)

Ticketmaster Response

Hi William,

Thanks for reaching out, I'd be more than happy to see what we can do to help.

I am deeply sorry you were unable to get tickets to Radiohead. But you have to understand that there are thousands of people on our website at the same time as you trying to buy tickets for the same event. Not everyone is able to get a ticket due to limited seating in the venue.

We take countless measures to prevent scalpers from purchasing tickets. We set ticket limits on every event and in this case the ticket limit is 4 tickets per household. Even scalpers have the right to 4 tickets, who are we to stop them form purchasing the limit. Now is someone goes over that limit then our over the ticket limit department cancels tickets down to the ticket limit, which is good news for you because those tickets go back into inventory and back up for sale. So you will still have an opportunity to get great Pearl Jam tickets. Another way to minimize ticket scalping is by setting a delivery delay on the event. If fans are not able to get there tickets until closer to the event then there is less scalping going on. We have also banned some users from the sight because we know they are ticket scalpers but people will still find ways around that.

Not everyone who resells their tickets are professional fans, that is want we label ticket scalpers. Some of these fans are just people who see an opportunity to make a little money. When you see tickets on resale sites that go on sale at the same time we go on sale, that is because we do have presales. Some of the presale fans may decicide that they want to sell there tickets, so they post them for sale on another sight. But the good thing about presale tickets is that we only sell a limited number of them and once they are gone the presale is over. Tickets are also sold on other sights at the same time as the on sale because there are season ticket holders for that venue that might decide that they can't make that particular event, so they place them for sale.

I hope I have answered all of your concerns. Make sure you continue to check the website to see if the tickets that went over the ticket limit go back up for sale.

If you need anything else, just reply to this email or click Help on Ticketmaster.com!

Sincerely,

Kyle

Love

This goes to everyone who is right now frustrated for not getting the tickets, it is just my humble opinion, and leave it  behind if you don't like it . I have been where you are right now, and trust me, I can relate with your feelings. After many years of introspection I recently realize that a relationship consist of share responsibility. You are picking a fight with a powerful Lobby, They don't care about you and me, or about Radiohead. Going to concerts is becoming a luxury for rich ones. I started questioning then why the Band, that is so strongly opinionated about these matters and about the fairness towards the Fans strikes deals with theses Corporations? After all these years of fantastic music do they really need it? I tell you why, because they get paid, and nicely. I am an artist myself, and trust me before I sell out (and I had many opportunities to do so) I will go broke and starve. Sometimes I give away my art for free. So, please, take a moment and contemplate that maybe even your Idols have a responsibility in this, bigger than you think.  It is hard to stick to your believes, I understand, but it can be done. In this case there are no victims, trust me; we all have a part in this. Next time that you want to go to a concert remember that Life is Impermanent and even 5 minutes in front of a computer screen are priceless because they belong to you. Not to the Lobby nor to Radiohead. Make good use of your time, I am sure that the Band will understand.

Respectfully

Simone

Hail to the Thief

Congrats to the band and its corporate partners on what was certainly a lucrative launch to the upcoming tour, and sympathy to those, like me, who wasted hours yesterday under the delusion that there really were tickets available to ordinary fans.  Those tickets were available only on the secondary market, but in a stroke of good fortune the primary broker for the NY shows, Ticketmaster, also operates in the secondary market.  Nothing more convenient than one stop shopping.

I'm a bit dejected I won't be able to attend a show, but truly distressed that this has happened here, with regard to this.  I re-viewed the band's appearance on the Colbert report from a few years ago, remembering the discomfort with teasing about corporate sponsorship.

http://www.cc.com/video-clips/grlcgn/the-colbert-report-radiohead

Today, this has taken on a new meaning.

The shock and anger coming from the band are insulting.  One response has been to caution against obtaining seats by the only means available.  The warnings against purchasing seats on the secondary market are just a threat to punish those willing and able to pay the exorbitant, exploitative prices commanded on the secondary market, the only means to secure a seat.  And what real expectation is there that these threats will be carried out?  Ticketmaster certainly does not want to discourage activity on its secondary site, TicketsNow.  None of the actors here are incentivized to enforce prohibitions against resale, and if those restrictions were enforced only fans would suffer, not those who have profited from all of this.

More insulting is the feigned shock that all of this happened.  There is no doubt that the band did not willfully prevent fans access to tickets, or that they're the ones who profited, but the careless indifference towards ticket distribution, particularly in light of the thoughtfulness that goes in to other forms of interaction with fans, demonstrates a disregard that is disheartening.  There was never a question that things would go down this way.  Back in January, the NYT reported on the sanctioned corruption in New York's ticketing industry.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/28/business/media/report-exposes-widespread-abuses-in-ticketing-industry-in-new-york.html?_r=0

But well before that, in 2009, the New Yorker exposed malfeasance at Ticketmaster.

http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2009/08/10/the-price-of-the-ticket

"In 2008, Ticketmaster expanded its reach within the secondary market by purchasing TicketsNow, but in doing so the company set itself up for a potential conflict of interest. There appeared to be a strong incentive for Ticketmaster to get tickets into the hands of brokers who operate on TicketsNow, and to reap hefty commissions."

What happened yesterday has happened before, and it is disingenuous to claim surprise at yesterday's events.

Ticketbastard is ruining live shows- so frustrated

I am so done with them and their corrupt practices. I'm sure this rings true with many of you. Sitting in front of PC at 9:55- gnashing teeth ready to see my boys in NYC(or LA for some). 10:00 AM on the dot- start searching for 2 seats best available- says searching- 5 minutes still searching- 10 minutes still searching- 11 minutes- no seats available. WTF I scream and yell(add in many other colorful metaphors). I understand there are just 4 US shows and demand will be high- but how the FUCK do there authorized resellers have tix before I even have the chance to buy them!!!!!!!! I logged the following message to their customer support today- will post response if I get one(ha ha).

Sent to ticketmaster

"I have a very serious inquiry for you. I am pretty fed up at this point. Tried to get Radiohead tickets for Madison Square Garden for either show in July 2016. Was on at 10 AM on the dot and of course couldn't get tix for either show. I understand that these are the only two shows for the east coast and demand is high. My question for you (and why I am so pissed) is how do your resellers have tix for sale before show even goes on sale. This stinks of impropriety(preferential treatment- do you get piece of their action??????).As a loyal fan this seems so wrong to me- they try to sell their tickets at $80 so all can go- yet before the they go onsale to general public- your authorized resellers have tix going from 180-1500 (before anyone can buy tix). On top of this there is a strict ID policy in place where even if I try to buy tix through reseller if my ID doesn't match credit card used for purchase- I will be denied addmission to venue. Please explain how this happens- I am 45 and not a newbie to this(100's of tix through your site)- but seeing resellers selling tix (0n your site)prior to actual on-sale blew my mind- so confused how you allow this and consider yourselves anything but unfair to your ticket buying public"

Just had to vent- congrats to anyone who gets to go!!!!! Guess I will just wait for new album and hope they do a full tour after these shows!!!!!

Dedicated Radiohead fan

Bill

RADIOHEAD TICKETS ARE PRE-SOLD TO RESELLERS

When I heard that Radiohead would be performing two shows at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles (and no where else in the U.S.A. except New York City) I was determined to buy 2 tickets and support the Band I Love so dearly.

I was shocked to discover that TICKETMASTER was already offering tickets to the shows BEFORE the posted On-Sale Date of 03-18-16 at 10:00 am PDT.  Ticketmaster was in fact offering tickets as "Resale Tickets on Partner Site".  Even though the Posted Cost of the tickets was $75.00 each, the tickets on the "Partner Site" ranged from approx. $900 - $4,000 EACH as Resale.

In other words, Ticketmaster was "Scalping" the tickets BEFORE they EVER went "On-Sale" to the General Public.

On 03-18-16 at 10:00 am, when I attempted to "Click" on the Tickets for Sale on the W.A.S.T.E. Ticket site, the link went to a webpage that said "Forbidden 504" (or something like that).

The only way to correctly link to the websites offering the actual tickets was through the Shrine Box Office Web site or AXS.  When I tried to proceed I was shunted into a "Waiting Room" where I was supposed to wait for my chance to purchase tickets.  This "Waiting Room" site continually CRASHED over and over again (probably due to the traffic).  I tried re-entering the waiting room over and over again until I was informed that the show(s) were SOLD-OUT.

There are still available tickets through the Ticketmaster "Partner" Re-seller if you don't mind paying more than 10X the face value and have NONE of that money going to the Band...

Here in America we are getting used to how the Rich get preferential treatment over everyone else... I just NEVER thought that Radiohead would allow themselves to be a part of it!

So, Come-on Guys!  You still have 3 nights in-between the 4th and the 8th.  Add at least 2 more shows for the FANS, and make ALL of the tickets available on a First-Come, First-Served basis (just like the old days).

This is the second time in a row that I have been Shut-Out of buying Radiohead Concert Tickets.  Last time they came to Southern California I was at least able to get to the page to request 2 tickets, only to be told that there were none available.  Once again, this is attempting to get tickets online right when they go on sale (my computer internet connection speed is T-2 level).  How about a W.A.S.T.E. Fan-club Pre-sale with Password?

Does Radiohead care what has happened to their fans who want to support them?

Frustrated....

BatDan

why such small venues

what on earth was radiohead thinking doing small venues giving the real fans no chance of getting tickets.

instead all the ticket touts waiting to pounce even if you need ID to get in the venue the touts will take a chance on selling them on ive been a fan since radiohead started but what if the touts sold there tickets to true fans but could not get in and the band were playing to half empty venue or even empty venue makes you think they could have done better the round house just not big enough for the fans pissed off fan
