Conformed to a Rainbow

Conformed to a Rainbow

by PrttyBrd

The epidemic of conformity consumes all
Children play by board game rules
Stifled by the world to paint a proper picture
They draw flowers of red with stems of green
Fields of wildflowers viewed as weeds enveloped in insecticides
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet
That is a rainbow, in that order alone
We are taught to live by the colors in a box of eight crayons
But even so, those colors cannot make a proper rainbow
A rainbow should be praised if drawn in mixed-breed hues
That field of flowers, natures pallet
We should begin with a box of 124 and grow infinitely
Where lilac dragons can live in cherry trees
Where those waist-high weeds hide the predator from the prey
For where would we be without cops and robbers, or hide and seek
In a world where out of sight incites widespread panic
Children's laughter in the sun is slowly silenced by the rules
Instead, embrace the joy and encourage creativity
We should harbor imagination and develop unreality
For it is there that is born the ideas that will form the future

Hello Fluffy

The Berkeley Earth Project has concluded that the Earth is definitely warming..
Set up after a bizarre last ditch campaign to question/sabotage the science of global warming in 2009 around 'climategate' this further undermines those who continue to tell us what we'd like to hear, that it ain't real and there's nothing to be done.
Will it draw a big black thick line under this guff so that we can finally and seriously move on and start to change the way our world functions????

"meanwhile .."

here's some music...

1. Popgun by Martyn
2. Walla Illa (feat. Tunde Adebimpe) by Tinariwen
3. Digimon by Dj Diamond
4. Boudler Holder by Madvillian
5. Here Come the Warm Jets by Brian Eno
6. Magic Says by Dabrye
7. Cosmogony by Bjork
8. Bangin by Si Begg
9. look at stars (Machinedrum rmx) by SbtrkT
10. Stomp Yo feet (part1) by Theo Parrish

Chosen for and WARMLY dedicated to the brave souls PEACEFULLY sleeping on concrete OCCUPYing Wall Street and the City and elsewhere in the world,
attempting to express the anger and disgust most humans feel for the institutions that have failed to serve the needs of all but a few of the human beings of this planet.
Now yet those same institutions demand that we bail them out and in so doing sacrifice our own and our children's chances of a reasonable and safe financial future.

'Bangin Motherfuckers........'

now i need to go and do something fluffy

The Minotaur

blog added by Lady Newell & Friends / Guest Curator WASTECENTRAL

The Minotaur : Thom Yorke & Stanley Donwood

                                                                       THE MINOTAUR

LAZARDIES AND KOFLER & KOMPANIE PRESENT THE MINOTAUR AND PRET A DINER - AT THE OLD VIC TUNNELS.   FROM 10TH TO THE 25TH OCTOBER 2011

In a innovative partnership with Steve Lazardies, KP Kofler will introduce PRET A DINER to the London stage for the very first time, with top Michelin-starred chefs Nuno Mendes (Viajante, London), Matthias Scmidt (Villa Merton, Frankfurt), Ollysan and Juan Amador (Amador, Manheim).

Steve Lazardies has comissioned artist from his international stable to each create their own interpretation of the classical myth 'The Minotaur' within a stunning Labyrinth installation

The Minotaur is finally open to the public after an outstanding turn out on Monday evening for the Opening Party with hauds of guests queuing down the street after we maxed capacity inside the tunnels. A massive Lazarides thank you to everyone that came to celebrate with us and we hope you all enjoy the show overthe next two weeks.

Having taken over The Old Vic Tunnels for the second year in a row, the subterranean space connected to the famous South London theatre, street art gallerist Steve Lazarides has seriously upped the ante for his latest exhibition, 'Minotaur'. Incorporating a deeply disconcerting maze featuring a sonic installation by Thom Yorke, a large-scale mesmerizing abstract film projection reflected in an ominous and regal pool of water, two sculptures made from what appear to be dead rats, graphic footage of bullfighting shown on loop in a cinema and a lavish secret pop-up restaurant by German restaurateurs Pret A Diner, amongst other things, this is more visual theatre than your average art exhibition.

Stanley Downwood about the Minotaur said: "I spent a week in the tunnels building the black labyrinth, with a lot of help from many people. The structure is called Mithras Tauroctonos Subterranea."

Radiohead Breaking News as of October 14th

I can't wait.

From : "Consequenceofsound.net"

"Like an itchy character in a Stephen King novel, Thom Yorke keeps coming back. This time, he spoke with Rolling Stone, where he laid one bombshell piece of news: Radiohead will record in December and January.

“We can get things together quite rapidly at the moment,” Yorke said, name dropping a new track titled “Come to Your Senses”. “We have this version of it. It’s a five-minute rehearsal, but it has the essence of what we need.” He stated they have a “few of those”, and added, “It would be fun to have them ready when we go to play next year. I don’t know how we would release them. It would be nice to make it all part of the flow and just enjoy it – not think about it too much.”

Speaking of touring, Yorke explained that putting the The King of Limbs material on-stage was harder than they imagined. He digressed on working with additional drummer Clive Deamer, adding: “In ‘Bloom,’ when Clive goes from the electro pads to the live kit, and my guitar shoots up an octave, I’m like, ‘Wow!’ When we came up with that, it was like, ‘OK, we got it.’” Deamer is a crucial key in bringing Limbs‘ lush recordings to life, but also one of the reasons the band hasn’t toured yet, due to his commitments with Portishead. As Radiohead’s manager Chris Hufford explained, “He wasn’t available and it’s why we couldn’t go out on tour until next year.”

On the topic of Atoms for Peace, Yorke insisted that there will be an LP before the end of the year, though he also added, “It’s not good enough yet.” The magazine reached Nigel Godrich for comment, who reiterated, “The idea was to generate the music, then record the band. We did that. Some of it worked. We also went back to some of the electronic stuff. It’s still in flux. We’re waiting for the lightning bolt to strike.”

So to recap: Radiohead will record in two months, Radiohead will tour next year, and Atoms for Peace will put out a record. Okay, now are you happy?"

Did you understand?

Did you know I would?

Dream you.

We walk down the street, going to the west, following the sun’s steps that was fading away

She was a considerably close to me, so close that our hands were connected, so close that i could feel her breath and her velvet skin. We were seeking the sun through an evergreen street, that fragrance fills up our lungs and somehow that street took us back to the east.

The dark night was completely over us, l saw a flower on the floor then i lift it and offer to her. The moon was rising, her long dark hair got some kind of shining while she took the flower and hugged my neck, l take her waist at the time I desire her lips. Then i look at her eyes... I found myself lost in her world...

[I was lying in corner of the brightest room, I heard... ‘come on, please just a little closer’ I cannot see anything, just a figure I try to reach. I found the flower in the floor, I took it then I collapse.

I see her coming at me, she wears a dress as blue as the rose i hold in my hand, her walk is completely sensual; she wears a short skirt and a dark pair of boots and she’s covered by a long leather coat.

She sits next to me, takes the rose while I fade away]

She realises I’m amazed, smiles wickedly, kisses my lips my cheek and finally whispers at my ear...

Will you dream with me tonight?

Where do we go from here?

What we really need now is an up-and-coming band with something to say and can get themselves heard, the most recent band i can think of is arctic monkeys and to be honest their newer stuff isn't as good as their older stuff. Ever since, the only music that really gets played are corporate nonsense/love songs which doesn't really express their points of views on anything. Yeah, we still have brilliant bands such as radiohead, kasabian etc who are still recording or writting, but around them is no new acts which can get noticed and get people to go "oh, they're good let's go buy their album, they have a point of view, something to say." I think that we've hit a patch where kids are grown up with low-ambitions and struggle with the concept of art and creativity. I blame modern music produced by corporations which has an easier chance of getting airplay, i also blame talent shows such as x factor who basically encourage this rubbish.  this isn't the first time it's happened, they're is something about conservative governments where music just stops aswel, it happenned in the 80's. but at least in the 80's their was depeche mode then stone roses came out and music was brought back to life from there cause then there were more fantastic bands soon after like Radiohead, Nirvana, and the list is huge. Now though we just need this one spring of life where an up and coming band just says  "you know what, we're gonna do it our way, we can change this, get rid of this rubbish, lets write about what we think of things." And another point, all these acts that are produced by corporations to make money get forgotten, think about it, who still listens to the backstreet boys or busted and so on, so on. It's becuase they've done nothing to get remembered for. I just think everyone should do somin creative, leave their own stamp on the world.

I just read about how Thom is an apparent jerk to certain folks. Then I read why. Now I wish to "high five" him.  Mmm and a happy birthday to the said hero.
